Matt Langel is a NE guy through and through. I doubt he'd consider USU. He'll get plenty of offers closer to his roots.

Oh good, I was wondering when somebody would finally start a coaching candidates thread.

Somebody said Bryce Drew at GCU makes $3.2M a year. We can't compete with that.

That's crazy for a coach that got fired and was not hired right away after being fired.

If we're going the baggage and ethics route, what's Kermit Davis up to these days?

If we're talking ethics, Will Wade was fired for basically using NIL before it was legal.

Ahead of his time and a bit of a grey area topic of doing NIL before NIL rules. This is why NIL formally exists.

That's St. Mary's, though.

I was at that game, and I can confirm that the bumper stickers are wrong: God is NOT a Gael. I think He's sick of Randy Bennett's (I can't express myself without swearing), too.

Back in the day it was illegal to smoke pot. Today, nobody cares. What's wrong with Will? It's not like we're going to hire NMSU's former coach.

We should build out a two year rolling schedule and have them ranked and what year we want them to come in to replace the other one when they leave.

I like the coaches at Indiana State (Josh Schertz age 46) and Samford (Bucky Mcmillan age 40). Both are young, but have had success and both have top 10 offenses. Indiana state got robbed out of a bid, but should have had one and Samford dang near beat Kansas.

Tim Miles, especially if he can bring in Amey and Cardenas, hes a good coach stuck at a (I can't express myself without swearing) school, sdsu struggle to beat them, that says a lot to me

Two 20 win season in 12 years doesn’t sound all that appealing to me.

No thanks. If we are going to go with a mediocre coach who has prior p5 experience I'd prefer Mark Fox. And that's saying something.

I’d like to add Steve Lutz from Western Kentucky. The guy has a great pedigree and been tutored by some great ones (Painter, McDermott,….). Could be a year or two too soon but by then the P6’s will be after him.

No. I've been drinking some other stuff. ViAggie is a cheap bastard and hasn't paid up yet. And yes, drunk or not I would take Tim over Tod. Tim was MWC Coach of the Year at SJSU last year. FWIW, I'm not recommending either.

Going through that list Pat Kelsey's 74% winning percentage really stands out. He played at Wyoming and looks relatable (for what it's worth).

Here's who WSU might be looking at:

https://www.sportskeeda.com/college-bas ... -will-wade

https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2024/ ... -smith-at/

Besides Wade, Mitch Henderson is the only name that makes sense from those lists.
