Thanks for the info!

I like the above the rim play but is there more than dunk contest highlights to his game? There was a couple of made 3s with an awkward shooting motion thrown in...

I'm pretty wary of any prospect that doesn't have peer school offers. Maybe they will come in time but so far that is not a list of schools we should be going up against for a recruit if we want to win the MWC.

Maybe your conception of peer schools is inflated?

We do have that with the Whaley kid.

I like this kid has great length and can jump out of the gym.

I’m intrigued, he is coordinated and really athletic. Anyone know his shooting stats or anything else about his game?

Shooting guard? His highlight film looked like he is more of a post, using his strength and quickness to overpower defenders.

I agree that I would like to see more shooting.

He didn’t miss a single shot, so there is that. :) :) :)

His handle looked a little rough on a few of those drives. I’m sure he is a project, if he was polished and had that athleticism he’d be going to a high major. Seems worth a shot though.

It is refreshing to see a highlight video where the recruit appears to be playing against competetition that is older than 12 year olds and/or taller than 4'8".

Not only does his athleticism show up so does his size. He is by no means a skinny rail. He would be a more than solid addition to the program.

Just curious, why didn’t he go to college straight out of hs? He graduated in 2022 right?

He missed most of his senior season with an injury and he felt like he didn't get a chance to show what he can do so he chose the Prep School route.

@aggies22

Do we have a realistic shot at him? Really nice athleticism. He isn't built like a stick so even if he's more of a slasher, he can finish despite some contact. That would be nice.

I’m sure you are being sarcastic…but that isn’t true

Zapala: had strong interest from p5 schools.
Isaac Johnson: had solid offers both as a transfer and hs recruit
Ashworth: had an offer from..
Taylor funk: as a transfer had offers from Michigan, alabama etc
Falslev: had solid offers
Bairstow: as I recall had offers
Eytle rock: I’m sure had offers coming out of umbc
Jones etc

Plenty of the kids had high g5 and even p5 offers.

Bairstow had decent offers. Our transfer players had good offers.

Most of our non-transfer players really didn’t have any offers of note that I can gather.

It typically depends on when a recruit commits. Basketball is really strange with recruiting. It's not like football where sometimes schools will battle for a kid right up to signing day. Once a basketball kid commits, most schools leave them alone and move on to the next target. So a kid like Mason Falslev committed to utah as a junior and that was that. We have two kids currently committed that are juniors in high school and I doubt that they will pick up many more offers BUT it won't be because they suck. It's just the way college hoops works.
