I just report what I know. As it stands now, we only have two spots available for the 2023-24 season.

Wasn't the word on the street that Dallin Grant was going to sign somewhere else? I thought I heard that somewhere.

I believe the coaching staff expects him on campus next summer.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑August 5th, 2022, 12:54 pmWasn't the word on the street that Dallin Grant was going to sign somewhere else? I thought I heard that somewhere.

It really could just be me, but the USU basketball program currently has the energy of a Jeb Bush campaign trail speech circa 2015.
I’m just not digging the direction of things.

It was one thing when Duryea looked like a lazy hire cause Barnes didn't care being on his way out. It's another thing when we think we have the coach to start winning the NCAA games who has won a game with as tough of a matchup you are going to have, but apparently hasn't given us much hope with his recruiting ability.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑August 5th, 2022, 9:49 pmIt really could just be me, but the USU basketball program currently has the energy of a Jeb Bush campaign trail speech circa 2015.

Part of the problem could have been him just taking his whole staff instead of hiring assistants with better connections recruiting. I know BA wouldn't have led us to the season we had by just bringing over the same assistants he had at ASU.

I think that’s part of it, for sure. There was rumored to be an exciting local addition to the staff that didn’t ever come to fruition.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑August 5th, 2022, 11:00 pmIt was one thing when Duryea looked like a lazy hire cause Barnes didn't care being on his way out. Can’t really put my finger on it, but the program feels a bit adrift right now.

Re: 2023 USU BASKETBALL Offers and Commits
I think this is a huge part of the problem. With new assistants from various places comes new relationships and connnections to HS and AAU teams and coaches. It also brings connections to other D1 players that may be looking for a new start. By bringing his whole staff it really limits who Odom and Co. know and where they know them from. Craig brought his main assistants with him too but he was lucky enough to have a couple of previous connections like Marco and had just enough talent left to him by the previous Aggie staff to make it a success. Honestly the luck of having Brito may have been the biggest factor of the trajectory of our program during Smith's 3 seasons.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑August 5th, 2022, 11:00 pmIt was one thing when Duryea looked like a lazy hire cause Barnes didn't care being on his way out. Nate Dixon was on the staff at Wyoming for two seasons. He does have some experience recruiting out west.

Just because the listed recruits don't seem to be very interested. That's all I was thinking.

Did Grant have any stats for his Sr. year, or was it COVID-cancelled?

Re: 2023 USU BASKETBALL Offers and Commits
Embarrassingly enough, I didn't even realize I had not updated his profile to show his senior season performance. My website has been updated to reflect what he accomplished. I appreciate you pointing out the omission my Aggie brother.brownjeans wrote: ↑August 9th, 2022, 7:14 pmDid Grant have any stats for his Sr. year, or was it COVID-cancelled?
