Ronnie Ross son final 5

Post by slcagg » July 29th, 2022, 10:33 pm

This is disappointing. We have every bit of a program than any of these 5.

We don’t seem to do very well with siblings or sons of former players 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not only that, but Kyle Evans committed to CSU tonight. Two swing and misses. Regarding Ross, Odom had been recruiting him since he got here, so that is disappointing. Tim coached Ronnie and definitely has a connection there. Let’s hope we can get Williams.

After they didn’t want him ?

That’s not the flex you think it is.

We are absolutely atrocious at recruiting the kids of ex players and alumni.

Evans reclassified to 2022. He has a good chance to get minutes this season.

In basketball, Boise should never be higher than us in the pecking order of recruiting. Especially for a legacy kid. We have better facilities, better fanbase (by far), better homecourt, better academics. Etc.

Really disappointing.

Evans didn't reclassify, he is a 2022 graduate. Due to a lack of recruiting interest he was going to attend a post graduate school but he had a strong AAU season and his interest picked up.

Btw Jordan is ranked #87 on 247. I hope we have other recruits between 1-86

Overrated in my opinion. But that’s just my thought on him. Saw him play a lot at PG and he was just ok. Of course he was only a sophomore.

Boise in the final for some high rated kids. Is duryea recruiting these kids?

Whoever is, the Broncos have clearly passed USU as a landing place for top recruits and in the conference standings. USU has always been a plucky school that has put together decent teams and lots of wins despite a dearth of highly rated recruits. They have done well doing more with less. They always get exposed in post-season play. I've resigned myself to believe this is a much a we can expect in Logan. I don't get too upset when we aren't in competition for these top recruits.

I disagree. Boise probably have a better recruiting staff right now. I have not been that impressed with odom and crew.

As soon as we miss on a kid or a player transfers, inevitably the player wasn’t any good or we didn’t want him anyways or we can do better.

It’s stupid. It’s what cougar fans do.

The reason Boise has a chance with Ross is because of Tim Duryea. He coached Ronnie. There is a connection there. And maybe the kid wants to make his own path.

That is good point. Just because a dad played for certain school does not mean the son will want to follow in the same foot steps.

I wish byu had that problem. We seem to be the one who’s kids don’t want to play for their dads Alma mater

I don't know how good Ross is or isn't, but I really don't see how it reflects on USU's program if sons of former players are beating down the doors or not. How good would we be if our roster was stacked with the offspring of Stew's early 2000's teams?
