Nemi and the Kings

Post by MrBiggle » July 2nd, 2022, 6:59 pm

Looks like he resigned his two way contract. I would love to see him get more playing time in the NBA.

12 points and 6 boards in the first summer league game. Hopefully he can battle for back up minutes this year. I saw some kings fans say he looks quicker on defense this year.

Another good game for Nemi.

“ Queta finished with 14 points, two steals and a block while shooting 67% from field and was a constant threat in the paint to any Heat player that attempted to drive to the rim.
Both players are currently on two-way contracts and looking to earn a full-time spots on the Kings’ NBA roster. If they continue to play like this throughout the Summer League, their chances will be looking very high. Defense has been a soft spot for the Kings and both of these guys make it point to lockdown their opponents on a nightly basis.”

I'm probably biased, but if Queta were on the jazz right now, he would be the best center they have.

TRADE for Neemias NOW!! I actually think Jazz management intentionally avoids most in-state guys. I suggested to Justin Bean that if the Jazz came calling and he had other options go elsewhere because of the mess the Jazz have become.

Danny Ainge was at the MW championship game during Sam’s finest moment(s). It surprises me a little he wasn’t at least invited to summer league.

i've heard that Sam's foot and ankle are still giving him problems. As a result, he is not ready to return and play yet. Probably hurts his chances in the NBA but he can still have a good season in Europe.

Here are box scores from the three summer league games for the Kings. The Kings were 3-0 in the California summer league and Queta had the highest +/- of any player. He did the same in the G-league last year, seems like he should be a candidate for more time in the big league. Of other MWC notes, Orlando Robinson and Bryce Hamilton are both on the Miami Heat summer league team and were not very impressive overall. Justinian Jessup is with the Warriors and shot 23% from three while getting swept.

Oh he would be. And to think they used a first rounder on Azubuike who is still probably third string on this roster.

Queta has been nothing short of dominant in the first half today. 10 pts on 4/4 shooting, 6 REB, 4 BLK, 1 AST, 1 STL. A couple highlights (including another 3):

He has the potential to be a very good player imo.

He must have gotten hurt at some point? Not too many minutes today. But it was a very different game when he was in.

I turned away for a bit and missed it but it sounded like it was more of a precaution to keep him out after whatever happened. He looked fine at the end of the game greeting fans.

I watched some of the Pacer game. In the 3rd he went out for a while. It looked like he was walking gingerly. Before that he was playing very well.

Queta ended his summer league season in style tonight with a double-double.

26 minutes
15 points
6-6 shooting
10 rebounds
1 block
1 assist

He did have seven turnovers.
