Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
It would be impossible to know, but the timing does seem odd, why now? Why not right after the BG? The TP is slim pickings now, all of the good recruits have already been picked up, only the best recruits are using it to get free trips across the country at this point.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑January 25th, 2022, 10:10 amWhat are the rules, if any, regrading schools poaching players? Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
I like what I see of Briggs but I think he fits the Gentry mold more than the Noa mold. He is a more slight build with quickness and even used as a slot WR quite a bit. If Noa does indeed end up leaving then I see Makakona as the guy that fills those shoes. He is bigger than Noa and has been fairly impressive in his few carries too. Still would like to keep Noa though.

If he does leave I'd have to guess that he's Boise bound as others have suggested and for the reasons others have surmised.

Interesting. Boise has holani. It’s not like he’d be guaranteed to be the feature back there.

Well and if playing time is the reason, Holani has more years left in college than Tyler. I think he is only a soph. Don't know if he has a covid year counted in that or not.
I really hope he stays. If it is 3rd or 4th and 1, Noa is the #1 guy I want running the ball.

It's too bad his Brother doesn't want to leave the Zero and get with the Hero. Besides, Logan is a lot closer to SD than it is to Bozo.GeoAg wrote: ↑January 25th, 2022, 11:03 amWell and if playing time is the reason, Holani has more years left in college than Tyler. The "rules" are against that happening BUT we all know that it does and that it happens for frequently than anyone would ever care to admit.FloridaAggie13 wrote: ↑January 25th, 2022, 10:10 amWhat are the rules, if any, regrading schools poaching players? Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
Damnit, I knew someone would call me out on that! Well it's... rounding up, an additional 25 mins to fly from SD to Boise. It's only a 1.45 hr drive from SL to Logan with the extra benefit of driving through Sardine Canyon! No SC in Bozo!aggies22 wrote: ↑January 25th, 2022, 11:30 amBut easier to fly in to.ViAggie wrote: ↑January 25th, 2022, 11:14 amIt's too bad his Brother doesn't want to leave the Zero and get with the Hero. Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
Personally, I think Rob Briggs will be a good player for us. I also think Enoch Nawahine should be re-enrolled and be ready to go.

Nawahine isn't coming back? Bummer. I thought he showed some potential in that freshman campaign.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
Makakona will still be here, correct? I like the way he runs, he runs like he is angry. If Tyler can stay healthy he will have a really good year. Lose Noa does hurt as he was really coming on late in the season. Hopefully Gentry and Briggs can produce as well.

Sorry!! Maybe be that didn't come out correctly, I DO think that Nawahine should be here by now. I was told they were expecting him.CanuckAggie wrote: ↑January 25th, 2022, 12:59 pmNawahine isn't coming back? Bummer. I thought he showed some potential in that freshman campaign.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
No. I worded that poorly!! My bad. I was told that they were expecting Nawahine to re-enroll.
Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
So the staff was expecting Nawahine to be back from his mission and enrolled this semester but he is not enrolled. If this is the case, is he back yet from his mission?

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
I saw several Noa family members at the Washington State game. And he had maybe 30 family members cheering for him and Utah State at the USU vs. SDSU game. I sat by them for a bit. Fun family.
Hopefully, he'll reconsider.

Enoch Nawahine HAS NOT returned from his mission and is NOT currently enrolled at Utah State.aggies22 wrote: ↑January 25th, 2022, 1:26 pmI haven't confirmed if he is back yet or not? Looks like SDSU just picked up a back from VA Tech/Oregon,, if he goes there, looks like competition is coming

Don't let the big names of those schools fool you. There is a reason he is on his third school in 3 years.

Apparently I'll need to move up that appointment with the eye doctor. I swear it said RB earlier. Getting old is awesome.

Re: Elelyon Noa to transfer
A cold observation here and it's just my viewpoint. It takes time (a year or more).to build a lineman for either side of the ball. Skill position Running and D Backs are players that need to be honed and refined. Tougher to replace linemen than backs. I really like Noa, just need to wait and see what happens here. Was he good,,, Yes, not outstanding and not great, but still really good.
