Re: UNLV game 1 predictions
Almost 30 years ago to the day of our game against them they beat us by over 40 in Logan. It might be our worst loss in Spectrum history. Glad we have improved as a program and they have gone downhill.

Re: UNLV game 1 predictions
They basically were putting an NBA team on the court. That was the best team to ever come to the Spectrum.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2021, 9:53 amAlmost 30 years ago to the day of our game against them they beat us by over 40 in Logan. This post is likely straight up poor sarcasm and cannot be taken seriously.

74-62 USU
We will see a lot of zone and we will struggle to figure it out. We need to hit the 3’s to break it and work the middle of the zone with Queta. Diong will give us fits.

Re: UNLV game 1 predictions
I hope I am wrong, but Otz has a history of beating Smith, we’re on the road, and UNLV is a talented but underachieving team that’ll be up for this game.

Re: UNLV game 1 predictions
From a previous topic about Smith owning the MWC it showed he was 2-1 against UNLV in the Mtn West. Did they have previous matchups when he was at another school? Just curious because I saw on the other forum someone said a similar thing about their coach beating us too.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 9:06 amI hope I am wrong, but Otz has a history of beating Smith, we’re on the road, and UNLV is a talented but underachieving team that’ll be up for this game.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Yeah, Otz was the coach at South Dakota State when Smith was the coach at South Dakota. I think Smith is 1-1 against Otz at USU, but the first game last year was oh so painful and embarrassing that it felt like 10 losses.
Teams that recruit well but underachieve terrify me.

Re: UNLV game 1 predictions
I feel like UNLV is the most unknown team in the conference this year. They played CSU within 3 pts both games. That makes me worried.

Re: UNLV game 1 predictions
5 point deficit isn't too bad, but the first five minutes of second half are critical for Utah State. Also let's hope that UNLV's hot shooting cools down. Okay let's see what happens in second half.

Re: UNLV game 1 predictions
And of course, we follow up the loss that felt like 10 losses last year with a loss that felt like 20 losses.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 2:38 pmfrankiesaysrelax wrote: ↑January 25th, 2021, 11:18 amFrom a previous topic about Smith owning the MWC it showed he was 2-1 against UNLV in the Mtn West. That game was death by a thousand cuts to our at large hopes.
