Hate to put the hex on us but does the SDSU sweep this week, an 11-3 record with a 10 game winning streak give us a few votes in the polls? I would have to think yes. The three losses seem tough for a mid-major but looking at when the losses came, start of season, sudden switch in opponent, adjusting to losing your superstar and starting freshmen and transfers, etc... and you can excuse some of them. Plus we look like an entirely different team right now. Honestly I think if we went back and played the three teams we lost to again we would win at least 2 with a good shot at all three.

No votes in my opinion. Those three loses still hurt in national exposure.

If we win the next 2 then maybe a vote or two.

We have to win out ahead of the Boise trip to break the top 25 imo.

Agree on that but we'll have to get votes for 3 weeks before we actually crack the Top 25. Some of it depends on which teams that are getting votes lose.

One more plus to us getting votes is that SDSU was still getting votes in both polls. I disagree with the posters who said we won't get votes. I think we will get some, even if it is just by those who were voting for SDSU will now turn the votes to a team that had a two game sweep of SDSU.

Got 1 vote. If we can sweep CSU I think we go undefeated until Boise which by attrition alone should get us into the top 25. At least one win at Boise would have us looking pretty good for an at large if needed.

Just win the tourney though for back-back-back champs!

I do think people are realizing that the MWC top 4 are pretty dang good.

The top 4 teams are pretty good. Those SDSU announcers were thinking 3 from the MWC. I don't see that happening but I do think that there will be 2 teams this year.

Yes. No votes. San Diego St still getting 3 votes somehow though.

If I was an SDSU fan, I’d probably believe the Aztecs win the 2nd game in Logan if their best player (Mitchell) was playing. I’m not saying they would have won. I can understand why some would still consider them better than us given the season to date. If we keep winning and they lose some more, we’ll get the props.

But we beat them with Mitchell already and swept them twice in 3 days...

Yep, I know.... but the voters probably look at the entire season to date and see that they have better wins earlier in the season, and their losses aren’t as bad as ours. We won 2 against them at home (at altitude... lol) but just barely in the 2nd game without their best player. What would have been the outcome if both games were in San Diego and Mitchell was healthy? We are playing really well right now, and I’m not sure which is the better team yet. I’d really like to think we are better since we just beat them twice. I think the voters probably put too much stock in early season wins and losses when teams are just getting their feet wet and trying to gel. Especially considering the effects of Covid-19, which every team has had to deal with, but to notably different extents. I like our trajectory. Are we better than the 3 teams that defeated us?
