A former Aggie who is close to Corner Canyon said the coaches have already been in communication with that school. Which is more than the old staff did. Corner Canyon is probably the best high school in the state right now.
They are for sure the best high school in the state in fact they're one of the best programs on the west coast right now.
You can say that twice my Aggie brother.

Yeah because they recruit kids from all over the state.

How incompetent was the prior staff? Is it possible to be this bad?

Every staff has there go to schools and guys. And every staff has schools they won't touch because of past experiences with kids from that school, or they don't like what it being taught, or they feel the kids are entitled, or what every reason. This is nothing new. It happens everyday all over the place in every single sport.

The weird thing about corner canyon is that Coach Kjar has sent us a lot of players(and some very good players) in the past when he was a Jordan.

Tyler Larson
Alex Hart
Mosley
Wakely

Bloomfield(not sure if he was after kjar left jordan, i assume he played for kjar for a few years anyway)
I think there were some others too.

Ok 22, talk with BA and the coaches and lets get this done. He certainly has all the physical tools to be good. BA loves to throw the ball around so this would be fantastic.
Like I said the staff is aware of him.
I this a real possibility of wishful thinking?
I will believe it when I see it. If we get him, it will be amazing. But it will be hard for him to turn down the big time schools that are probably coming for him. That being said.... c'mon Coach, work your magic!.
I'm telling you, all we have to do is call.
So, uh, are we going to call?

Talking about Corner Canyon, will Eric Kjar ever give the college ranks a shot? That guy is seriously unbelievable. Every QB he touches goes to a D1 school.

Since he joined Corner Canyon I believe they're 51-1 with 40 straight wins and 3 straight state titles playing at the highest level in Utah. His QB this year Jaxson Dart just commit to USC yesterday.

He had Jordan in the playoffs every year and also won state there as well. After he left they've been one of the worst teams in the state and didn't win a single game this year.

To you... however it is still a true statment.

Programs product certain type of kids. Look at way we look at NMSU basketball program. Now if that was a highschool program some schools would still look and other school's won't.

Sorry it is just a fact.

It happens at the next level too... There is a reason the GB Packers look at our program hard. It is not dumb luck.

How much of what Kjar has done is because of his coaching ability, and how much of it is because these premium athletes manage to find their way to the Draper area to live? Jaxson was at Roy High School and then happened to "move" into Corner Canyon did he not? I'm sure that list of transplants is much larger than one player.

They got 5 new players to transfer in. And these 5 weren’t scrubs.

With open enrollment, you can pretty safely assume that any school that is doing well in football or basketball has several of their best players from outside the school boundaries. Most of the enrolled as either a freshman or sophomore within the rules and then you'll have a few that just happened to move into the boundaries. It happens in other sports as well.

I've heard that Corner Canyon is getting another QB that is moving to Draper after being the starter at another school last season.

Source level 7 ??

I have a buddy from work who lives by coach Kjar and knows him pretty well. My buddy said that Coach Kjar doesn’t really like transfers because of all the baggage (parents) that comes with them. He would prefer to not have them, but won’t tell them no if they come. I think my buddy said only one or two of the Cali boys are still there, all the others moved back after football.

At least a 7.

Orem had 15 and Skyridge 12 so at least CC isn’t as bad as they are. Bingham isn’t recruiting at the same level they were and the results on the field have shown he that.

I would love to see coach BA reach out to and sign Jacob Sirmon. I believe that signing would open the doors to a lot of other solid recruits especially at WR.

Dang so are players just going to move around every year now? Would love Justin Rice, but it is crazy what college football has become.

I think so. This should make rebuilds easier but you could also go from a 10 win team one year to a 2 win team the next.

How long before we start calling them what they are - "free agents"?

It will be really interesting to see if the NCAA temporarily raises the 25 IC limit when they meet in January. I think they will have to in order to accommodate the extra year and the temporary increase to the 85 limit for returning seniors and the expected transfer activity.

I honestly hope they do so permanently, you should be able to add guys via transfer for guys lost, so 25 IC plus up to say 5 for any lost transfers or attrition during the season.
An idea that Kansas proposed to the NCAA to help solve this problem would to be change the 25 initial scholarship limit
to 50 initials and include the current year and the upcoming year in the count. That way if a player entered the portal that
had counted against 2020 you could use his scholarship on a new transfer or high school recruit to replace him.
This would make a lot of sense so the chances of it happening are pretty slim.

What we need, is somebody like this:

https://247sports.com/Article/Jacob-Sir ... 157085800/

You mean the kid I've been talking about?? He's in the portal, it's fair game now.
Unfortunately, Jacob has committed to Central Michigan.
Isn’t that where McElwain is coaching? Interesting.

Should we be surprised if Logan Bonner ends up at USU? Would that be an improvement over what we already have in the QB room?

In my opinion...it wouldn't be a surprise...and I would personally be disappointed in that...

Personally speaking, I don't think it would be an upgrade.

Do we know if the staff ever reached out to Jacob?

That’s putting it mildly

I suggest we give this staff the benefit of the doubt in recruiting for now. For all we know, Sirmon has been talking to Central Michigan for awhile too. He signed pretty quickly after entering the portal.

As of this afternoon they had not.

I agree, it will take some time. I agree we don't even have all of our position coaches yet. Some players may be a little hesitant to sign until they see who their position coaches going to be.
