You mean the kid I've been talking about?? He's in the portal, it's fair game now.
Ok 22, talk with BA and the coaches and lets get this done. He certainly has all the physical tools to be good. BA loves to throw the ball around so this would be fantastic.

Aggies22, I guess I'm not understanding why a highly-rated QB like this is wants to transfer to USU. What's the story? I gotta imagine he has a lot of options.

No established QB, a new offensive staff with no favorites. He just wants a chance to compete. There are VERY few new staffs this year.

Jacob is a good talent with a great arm and loves the game of football. Comes from a huge football family. Father, and multiple uncles played D-1 ball with one starting at linebacker for the Titans for years. I could see him to place where he can play right away and is anxious to prove himself at the collegiate level.

A quote from his dad in the article:

“We have very, very explicit, clear criteria for where he’s going,” David Sirmon said. “The things that don’t matter are level or location. When he first signed those things were critical. They were. They were really important, and probably overly important. Now it’s all about ball.

“So he’s got criteria: an established head coach, an NFL-centric OC, a real need at the quarterback position. That will be his filter to decide where he goes. As soon as it hit he had multiple calls simultaneously. It was weird. It was Big 12, Pac-12, ACC schools, and then Group of Five schools. It’s been really fast.”

The article attached courtesy of apo was quite informative. Reality seems to be driving this young student athlete to Utah State, and I certainly wish him all the success he can generate. Sounds like his family let him make his decision without undo influence.

JACOB SIRMON, welcome to Utah State University and Logan Utah. You should expect a fantastic collegiate experience.

I don't think he has picked USU yet...correct?

This is exactly what David Sirmon told me nearly a month ago. I think I even posted something very similar.

I try not to think about where eggs come from when I eat them because it is a pretty gross thought.

I'm all for the new coaching staff going hard after a four-star transfer portal QB, but I'm not completely giving up hope that either Peasly or Legas couldn't be great QB's with more program stability and better development. Both have unique athletic abilities.

That said, I'd be more impressed if they could pick up a 4-star transfer ILB or CB this offseason.

Anderson landing a 4* guy like Sirmon would be HUGE for perception to other recruits.

Guy comes in to a 1-5 program that clearly has issues and in his first class brings in a 4* transfer QB with 3 to play 3? That would be enormous for selling the program to other recruits.

A former Aggie who is close to Corner Canyon said the coaches have already been in communication with that school. Which is more than the old staff did. Corner Canyon is probably the best high school in the state right now.

Here’s the tweet:

That is quite the criticism of the previous staff. I doubt that's the only school that was thinking the same way. I'm sure that kind of stuff contributed to the downward slide. I'm glad this staff appears to be doing their part to right the ship though.

I will believe it when I see it. If we get him, it will be amazing. But it will be hard for him to turn down the big time schools that are probably coming for him. That being said.... c'mon Coach, work your magic!.
I'm telling you, all we have to do is call.
Maybe Blake should stop doing interviews long enough to pick up the phone then.

Anderson landing a 4* guy like Sirmon would be HUGE for perception to other recruits.

Guy comes in to a 1-5 program that clearly has issues and in his first class brings in a 4* transfer QB with 3 to play 3? That would be enormous for selling the program to other recruits.
You are absolutley correct. This would be huge. I think Peasley has potential and so does coiper/calvin, but you brung in this kid if he wants to cone here. This will help get some good transfer receivers.

A former Aggie who is close to Corner Canyon said the coaches have already been in communication with that school. Which is more than the old staff did. Corner Canyon is probably the best high school in the state right now.
They are for sure the best high school in the state in fact they're one of the best programs on the west coast right now.

What we need, is somebody like this:

https://247sports.com/Article/Jacob-Sir ... 157085800/

You mean the kid I've been talking about?? He's in the portal, it's fair game now.
Ok 22, talk with BA and the coaches and lets get this done. He certainly has all the physical tools to be good. BA loves to throw the ball around so this would be fantastic.
Like I said the staff is aware of him.
I this a real possibility of wishful thinking?

That’s great he’s recruiting Corner Canyon. Love it.
