Plane with new Coach A has a 30 minute layover?
The plane flying back from Arkansas has a layover in Wichita, Kansas. Why in the world would it be stopping there on the way back?
12/11/2020 - Logan-Cache (11:51 AM MST) to Jonesboro Muni (3:24 PM CST)
12/11/2020 - Jonesboro Muni (5:00 PM CST) to Wichita Eisenhower (6:03 PM CST)

While flying low over a cornfield, they spotted a mysterious obelisk below.

Maybe Jonesboro Airport didn't have fuel for them so they had to stop in Wichita to gas up.

I have it on pretty good authority that the 7th fetzer valve was sticking.

Re: Plane with new Coach A has a 30 minute layover?
Deicing fluids would be my guess. I believe that is not only to melt snow but mostly prevents aswell. Not sure about that. No reason for Jonesboro to have them but Wichita might ??

Re: Plane with new Coach A has a 30 minute layover?
The aircraft in question, N15CV, is a Cessna Citation Encore. It doesn't really have very long range when heading westbound against winter winds. Not surprising at all that they may have needed a fuel stop.

Re: Plane with new Coach A has a 30 minute layover?
De-ice fluids are used to clean the aircraft for takeoff. Once airborne, the aircraft's own de-icing/anti-icing take care of any ice. The Cessna Citation Encore, which is the type of aircraft in question, uses engine bleed air to heat the leading edges of the wings for ice protection in flight. Only aircraft which use a so-called "weeping wing", in which anti-icing fluid is released through small holes on the leading edge, would need to stop to fill up on de-icing fluid. But weeping wing technology is fairly uncommon.

Re: Plane with new Coach A has a 30 minute layover?
There was one year our football team's flight to Idaho got delayed cause of a storm and they had to fly out of Salt Lake instead of Logan. Then when they thought they would finally get to leave, they had to stay for another hour cause the pilot left the cockpit window open when they were spraying de-icer spray so the spray got all over the radios and they had to reboot them.

Re: Plane with new Coach A has a 30 minute layover?
Nope, de-ice/anti-ice fluid is only to clean the aircraft prior to takeoff. It "shears" off the aircraft during the takeoff, and once airborne, an airplane's own ice protection equipment handles any potential in-flight icing. In jet aircraft, the protection is usually in the form of heated engine bleed air directed through ducting in the leading edges of the wings and engine nacelles. Turboprops, and some slower jets, usually utilize what are known as de-ice boots, which are rubber bladders along the leading edge of the wings. When ice begins to accumulate on the leading edge, engine bleed air is used to inflate the bladders and break away the ice.

When coach A gets to his house I’ll bet his head will be full of decorating ideas. He’ll probably start by moving the pool closer to the house.

Do we know if Coach Anderson is in town? He may not want to take the job given the current state of affairs.

You mean it isn't every coach's dream to be deposed in an employment discrimination and civil rights case instead of coaching your first spring practice. Over an incident that you learned about after you got on the plane to your new home.

We better handcuff Anderson and not let him leave since we have a coach in place. we need to start getting this mess cleaned up.TrueBlueAggie123 wrote: ↑December 11th, 2020, 8:10 pmLooks like they landed in Logan a few minutes ago.
