Regardless of all if this, my uneducated hope at this point is for Leipold, Holtz, or Hill. I'd be happy with any of them.
I wonder how much of this is being driven by public perception. Hartwell wanted to do a "national search". If the National search yields Jay Hill (a great hire, IMO I don't care what @aggies22 says except when he compliments my mustache.) The optics could be bad.. missing on Harrell and then hiring a guy we could've all along.

I don’t know if you read some Twitter you will notice BYU and Utah fans say that it is questionable if usu is a better job than Weber.

I do not read wat Utes and ybu fans write, however if you are to compare salaries then Hill would get nearly triple what he gets at Weber also if you win at USU and move on you can make millions at your new school, like G.A. and Wells did. At USU the new coach could receive as much as $1 million and get a 3-5 year contract. That is competitive money for a MWC coach, also his assistant coach would make nearly triple what Weber pay's

I suppose that if I were a complete moron, I could argue that the USU job is better than the South Carolina job as well.

If Hill ends up being the hire, I don't believe the optics look bad. You do a national search and that includes some local coaches who are really good. You then hire the best candidate that wants the job. If Hill is the best candidate then I will be stoked.

My opinion if Jay Hill could be successful at Utah State is just that, an opinion. I just have my reservations. If Jay got the gig, I would still support him 100% regardless. If it's going to be Jay, just get on with it! By the way, nice 'stache my Aggie brother!

I'm having trouble caring what the judgement is from people who made the decision to attend/cheer for those other institutions, kind of discounts what they say if they're that damn stupid to begin with. It's like trusting a blind, deaf and dumb person to tell you when it ok to cross the street.

Whoever it is, let's just hope Hartwell doesn't pull a Colorado State on us and hire someone like Steve Addazio. That guy has a career 50% winning record in 10 years and had never had above 7 wins at BC prior to CSU.

So, I think we learned another reason why it can be valuable to wait until the season's over to hire a new coach.

To be fair, we’ve had no official announcement or press conference....
Just saying that we havent officially announced the new coach yet probably to prevent a blow up and this happens....mehhhh
