Unpopular Feelings
Unpopular Feelings
Honestly I know this season started off bad. But I honestly blame Hartwell for the horrible ending to the season. He never should have entertained the idea of firing coach A 2 games into the season. At least not enough to even be having a meeting about it.
I watched a team on the field tonight with no passion, no leadership, no coaching from the side lines. The team lost their leader (Coach A) and now a lot of key players. I feel for these kids. I froze my tail off tonight to see a coaching staff that knows they won’t be here next year and gave up.
Here’s to a better year. Next year. Go Aggies
be nice it’s just my opinion.

Re: Unpopular Feelings
I don't think GA was fired because of performance. Someday hopefully we hear the real story.

Re: Unpopular Feelings
Hartwell clearly thought he had to fire Andersen for reasons beyond football otherwise he would have been given more time. We have gone over this at length, but USU wouldn't have fired a coach that quickly unless there were bigger reasons than wins and losses. The fact that he isn't getting a buyout beyond this year is telling.

Going 0-3 to start the year is not why Gary is no longer coaching let’s put it that way.

I respect your opinion, but disagree. I think the end to this season would have been even messier had they kept Gary on throughout.

Fudging grades? We could go on and on, this is how conspiracy theories start and develop! Here is a good one, when Gary was in Oregon at Oregon State he got hooked on Mary Jane because of the states avalibility of Mary Jane. So ever since he,s had parties and he has become a pot head reefer!. I actually heard this from someone last week. I had a hard time controlling my laughter on this one. Cache Valley May have changed a lot physically but not mentally. People want to know so they conjure up about anything!

It's a legitimate question. Talk all you want about caving in to big donors, but Hartwell is going to own this not them.

Re: Unpopular Feelings
Hindsight is 20/20. I think most of us were cautiously optimistic that Gary 2.0 would be similar to 1.0. In the end he wasn't, but it wasn't a huge stretch to think he might be able to duplicate things in his second stint.JonnyCienPesos wrote: ↑December 4th, 2020, 11:22 amEh. Re: Unpopular Feelings
The silence regarding the issues about Gary’s firing speaks volumes. Gary had a very good relationship with the Utah sports media, if he felt he was unjustly fired, he’d have plenty of opportunity to share his story. The fact that there has been nothing but radio silence from Andersen’s side tells me that this is far deeper than onfield performance. It may not be anything nefarious, it could be personal or health issues that he feels the need to be silent about.

Re: Unpopular Feelings
Laub and Mothersell are fans like us. Like us they probably supported GA's hire and firing. The person they hold responsible for those actions and the state of our FB program as a result is Hartwell. We should also.Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑December 4th, 2020, 11:17 amThat is good. Would a GA-led team have beaten UNM?
Maybe. Maybe not. They're pretty atrocious.
So ... are we really net worse off without GA?

Judging from what has been said by those in the know about the locker room, etc., I 'd say yes. Maybe not in terms of wins and losses, but in terms of team morale, yes.

I don't believe that's the case. But for people to come on here and announce they have insider information but can't share means either a) they're lying, b) they're trolling, or c) they're Gary Anderson's grandmother and have a maternal need to protect him.splintorb wrote: ↑December 4th, 2020, 10:38 amOhh Orange County...you are silly...OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑December 4th, 2020, 10:32 amClearly, you don't have any insight, you're just trying to sound important.Intermeddler wrote: ↑December 4th, 2020, 2:31 amI don’t owe you details. If you still think Gary was fired for his team's 0-3 performances...you just aren't paying attention...

Re: Unpopular Feelings
Yes, that is an exhaustive list of reasons someone might not want to disclose damaging/embarrassing information about someone on the internet while trying to reassure others that our AD wouldn't make a knee-jerk firing after an 0-3 start to a second-year coach.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑December 4th, 2020, 3:48 pmI don't believe that's the case. Re: Unpopular Feelings
Is it going to improve your life to know the reason why GA was removed? No. What about this....what if you were fired for whatever reason. Let’s say a personal struggle. You ask your boss to please keep the personal details out of it. He ignores you and ruins part of your life...or he keeps quiet, respecting your situation. Why dig and dig for information that is none of our business?OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑December 4th, 2020, 3:48 pmI don't believe that's the case. And why on earth do the "average" fans deserve to know the truth behind something like that?mcaggie1 wrote: ↑December 4th, 2020, 4:42 pmIs it going to improve your life to know the reason why GA was removed? Re: Unpopular Feelings
You think things would have gone better had Hartwell done nothing?jeepnfonz wrote: ↑December 3rd, 2020, 11:08 pmHonestly I know this season started off bad.
