What WY fans are saying...
What WY fans are saying...
WY Message board - "Utah State is a mess. Their head coach was fired 3 games into the season and their starting QB was kicked off the team this week. Utah State is second to last in FBS football in offense at 240 yards per game and pts scored per game at 11.3 (Cal is the only school lower having only palyed one game). Utah State is 5th worst in total defense giving up 525.8 yards per game. Utah State is by far the worst team in FBS in yard differential at nearly -285 yards per game. Come on man, we are in a much much better place than Utah State. While I doubt Wyoming puts up 525 yards of offense, I do expect us to control the clock and put over 200 yards of offense on the ground. I don't see a competitive game. If it is competitive, then we are much worse than I thought." ... I sure hope we see a spark of something. We shall see. Right new we are the laughing stock of the conference.

I can't argue with anything there and I think they'll cover the 20 point spread. I hope I'm wrong.

Re: What WY fans are saying...
Seems reasonable to me.
I think we do beat the 20 point spread based on the fact that two of the locker room cancers are gone.
That + a certain Mr. Legas, who has the "it" factor. I think that could really rally the troops.
Not saying we win, but I think it's a bit closer than people think it will be.
1 possession game.

Re: What WY fans are saying...
Personally I think our offense will be better this week. Would be even better if we had Jordan. Our defense will probably be better too just my gut feeling. I do think we still lose but by a touchdown or less

They are not wrong in their assessment. Altjough Its not like they have been world beaters against us as we hold a 5-2 record against them since joining the conference. I am hoping wee see some life from this team and some improvement this week.

At this point, that is probably going to be the standard MW talking points against us and as others have said they aren't wrong until we can prove them wrong.

Yep. We've all seen this board for the last month. You aren't going to find anything more negative about our football program than what Aggie fans are saying about their own program. Unfortunately it is as Brent Guy would say; "At Ground Zero" right now.

we have a lot of problems to solve very quickly in order to be competitive in any of our remaining games. Can we do it? Call me skeptical.

One win against Wyoming is not enough to give frank the job unless Hartwell is an idiot , which I don’t think he is.kofdog wrote:CAn we do it, who knows for sure....but man if we did, Hire Frank.

For Frank to win the job he is going to have to win out and do well in a bowl game.

Wyoming's one win comes from beating a good Hawaii team that beat Fresno State earlier in the season. Not looking good for us no matter who's playing and where.

I think with the Wyoming game canceled, we're officially eliminated from a bowl game, right? I guess that eliminates Frank from contention for the head coaching job.AggieUprising50 wrote: ↑November 18th, 2020, 9:51 amFor Frank to win the job he is going to have to win out and do well in a bowl game.

Actually this year there are no restrictions on teams getting invited to bowl games. Teams could have a losing record and still get invited to a bowl game. That being said there is no way we will get a bowl invite, nor do we deserve one.BigVBAg wrote: ↑November 18th, 2020, 3:05 pmI think with the Wyoming game canceled, we're officially eliminated from a bowl game, right? What Wyoming fans are saying ....... that we are scared! At least that is what all my relatives from the great state of Wyoming are telling me. That we are dodging them and don't want to give the rifle back.

Re: What WY fans are saying...
Being eligible and getting an invite are separate things. I know that some of the bowls this year are shut down and there will be fewer spots. The LA bowl was supposed to replace the Vegas Bowl for the MWC but it won't be happening until next year now. The players were probably told that if they wanted a chance at a bowl game that they needed to win out from that point on because of limited spots. There will be teams with winning records sitting at home this year.AGinNEIowa wrote: ↑November 19th, 2020, 4:44 pmI do know whattaniataylor wrote: ↑November 19th, 2020, 12:06 pmI dont know. I would think USU's resume through 5 games speaks for itself though. Can't imagine not getting an invite with that no contest from Wyoming and 4 close losses to top 10 teams.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑November 19th, 2020, 4:55 pmBeing eligible and getting an invite are separate things. I guess it was more relevant when a few conferences had "cancelled" their seasons - AND I was feeling optimistic that if US came out and KSA over the last 3 games, some bowl would look our way...
