Re: Jaylen Warren
At the end of the Boise game they showed him on the sidelines and you could tell that he was limping a little bit. I don't know if that was it or if it was something related to covid-19 but I'm guessing it might have been an injury.

He was on the sideline. Warmed up but couldn't go.

Re: Jaylen Warren
He was suited up and on the sideline with his helmet on all night. They talked several times throughout the game about the large brace on his knee. They reported after halftime that he was unavailable for the second half. Hurt knee.

Sucks for him. He is really good when out there, but has a hard time staying healthy.

Re: Jaylen Warren
Yeah, when you run with that much violence and fight for every inch on every carry like he does it does not tend to lead to longevity on the field.
I love his strength and determination but that style takes a toll on the body.

Re: Jaylen Warren
He is the only reason we scored lol should we have just put in all the second string at half time?

Re: Jaylen Warren
No but I felt he was over used on some drives. Noa could have come in and spotted him more and spaced his carries out a bit.Winning Team wrote: ↑November 2nd, 2020, 10:06 pmHe is the only reason we scored lol should we have just put in all the second string at half time?

Re: Jaylen Warren
This is not on the coaches for running him 22 times. Players generally want to play as much as coaches will allow them to. Warren is a really good back, but struggles to stay healthy.

Re: Jaylen Warren
Greg Bell ran it 22 times against us on Saturday. 22 isn’t that many. Valladay (Wyo) ran it 32 times in a blowout win against Hawaii last week. I do think we should give DHC a few more carries though. I just don’t think Noa and Gentry and quite ready for more than 5-6 carries a game. Wonder why we haven’t seen Makakona yet. I thought he was 3rd on the depth chart.

Re: Jaylen Warren
Maybe. He didn’t register any stats or carries but maybe he got on the field but I didn’t notice.Elkaggie wrote:I thought Makakona was there for a series in the second half?
DHC had a bad ypc but I didn’t like how we were trying to utilize him a lot of the time. Gentry had one one carry and busted through for 19 yards but then coughed it up.
McGriff has looked good. Not sure why we don’t throw it his direction more.

Re: Jaylen Warren
The depth chart that gets publicly released at the beginning of the season is rarely the actual depth chart. Someone on here called "smoke and mirrors."AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑November 3rd, 2020, 1:30 pmGreg Bell ran it 22 times against us on Saturday. 22 isn’t that many.
