New commit per 22
Nice! Tons of quality offers. He does a little touchdown skip like Jaylen. Lol. So are high schools in Florida playing football this fall?

Aggies are going to have a SERIOUS stable of running backs.
2020: Gentry, Noa
2021: Rhymes, Friday
Now, if we could get some football for the 2020 season.

If I understand it right, he can definitely be back in 2021 if he wants to be and the coaches want him to be.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑September 10th, 2020, 10:58 pmWouldn't Warren conceivably get an extra year of eligibility and be back in 2021?3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑September 10th, 2020, 10:54 pmAggies are going to have a SERIOUS stable of running backs.

I think rhymes can also play receiver. Overall I don’t think we’ve ever had this promising group of young rbs (I know the turbin, kerwin group ended up being awesome). This kid had legit offers from big time programs but then it appears just fell through the cracks. Add this group of rbs with a young talented oline and the future is bright.
Now if we can just stop striking out at qb last year and this year.
Re: New commit per 22
I'll let 22 elaborate on this kids background when he gets to it but I will say this, the kid is LEGIT! He is Extremely talented. We now have two pac-12 and two SEC running backs just let that sink in for a minute. This was all ready the best RB room we have ever had now its just unreal.

Why would a guy with offers from all those schools choose us? Might get more playing time? Interesting.

Re: New commit per 22
Reading a little, I think those offers were awhile back...around his sophomore year or so. Not sure they are still valid. Regardless, if he really held those offers at any time, he certainly is a very good athlete. I really like the way the RB unit is growing. I expect that in the future we will start to see more 2 back sets like we saw back when we had Smith, Kerwynn, and Turbo.

Re: New commit per 22
I will say that at one time they were 1000% percent valid. in fact he was committed to Tennessee as a sophomore. The reason he dose not still have many of them has zero to do with talent or ability.GeoAg wrote: ↑September 11th, 2020, 8:08 amReading a little, I think those offers were awhile back...around his sophomore year or so. Re: New commit per 22
Here's the short story about Juice. He was VERY highly recruited early in his high school career. He committed to Tennessee as a sophomore and as the big-time offers continued to roll in, he backed off his commitment to Tennessee. He was forced to bounce around a bit when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Because he attended a few high schools his transcripts didn't always translate over so he was not able to graduate on time. This kid had a hard run of luck and the big-time schools went elsewhere rather than wait it out to see how things turned out for him. Juice was our #1 running back target for the 2021 class. He will enroll at Utah State in January. I am finishing up an interview with him as I type this post.

The post I just left it what it has to do with. We are also heavily involved with a 4* WR that is in a very similar situation.Aggie19 wrote: ↑September 11th, 2020, 8:55 amWhat does it have to do with?jeffdan25 wrote: ↑September 11th, 2020, 8:52 amI will say that at one time they were 1000% percent valid. in fact he was committed to Tennessee as a sophomore. Re: New commit per 22
Let's put it this way. This kid went to IMG Academy as a sophomore. He couldn't afford to stay. For those of you that don't know what the IMG Academy is, it's basically an athletic training academy to prepare high school kids for competition at the D-1 level that pretends to be a high school. You can't suck and go to school there. The majority of the kids that go there are all 4 and 5-star dudes.

Re: New commit per 22
I was travelling last weekend and the place we stopped for dinner had an IMG Academy game on ESPNU in the back room.
Every kid on the team was a commit to a big-name school. They had 4 linemen committed to Alabama, for example.
They ran roughshod over the poor other kids. It was something like 35-0 by the end of the first quarter when I left.

I don't have a clue but just doing a little research it looks like Friday was the one announcing his offers and not the schools. Not that uncommon in today's world of recruiting but could be a little fishy.Yossarian wrote: ↑September 11th, 2020, 12:23 pmOne of the comments on that article was asking if this was the kid that was pushing "fake news" about offers he had but didn't really have. Here's the announcements I could find:
Tennessee - announced his commitment June 8, 2017 via Twitter
Notre Dame - announced his offer June 26, 2017
De-commit from Tennessee - July 18, 2017 via Twitter
LSU (his dream school) - announced his offer August 29, 2017 via Twitter
Penn State - announced his offer Nov 22, 2017 via Twitter
Announces his Top 11 - December 25, 2017 as a Merry Xmas to himself via Twitter. Top 11 include, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, UCLA and USC.
That's quite a list..

Re: New commit per 22
I'm no expert in navigating recruitment sites like maxpreps or 247sports. I'm sure 22 is dialed into these outlets and knows how to navigate and interpret the data far better than most of us.
Maxpreps says he plays for Western High School in Davie, Florida and graduates in 2021.
ESPN says he plays for Cardinal Gibbons High School.
247 says he plays for Western but that he also attended Cardinal Gibbons, IMG Academy, and Stephenson High School all before attending Western. They also outline him as the class of '20 (not 2021).
The list of offers he has received varies across all three of those platforms. 247 sports says he has offers from running back powerhouses like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Oregon. Yet a fourth platform (RIVALS) says he has zero offers??
I keep trying to find his playing stats and can't find anything...
Is this even real? Seems fishy to me (unless COVID has drastically delayed the process in keeping recruitment info accurate and up-to-date??).
If you have 20 minutes to kill, it is a strange but interesting rabbit hole to go down.
