The only team in the western us is playing in 1 week. Wouldn’t that be nice.

I find it interesting that the LDS team is playing but their Tabernacle choir will not give any performance until Jan-1

Week 3 of high school football is also complete in Utah. Meanwhile the Aggies and Utes are still sitting at home. Hilarious.

I can't even step foot into a local LDS ward building, but we get the "Foosball"

I asked a choir member a couple of weeks ago how that is possible. He had no logical response.

Well you don’t leave your basement and California has banned church gatherings but allow well you know. We all know you didn’t step in it before you chose to live in your basement, which is totally fine.

I for one am glad they are trying to play football. Regardless that I never cheer for them.

I’ll see if I can buy a tabernacle choir cd for you guys that are so offended.

My goodness did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed ? I do not know but I believe church's are not meeting in Utah either.

With the pac-12 not playing as well as the BSC games were hard to find. I wonder what if some folks might believe that YBU does not care as much for their fans and players welfare as all the other schools in the west.

Nope oleblu having a good day. You are right my response was a bit harsh towards Vi as far as saying he hasn’t stepped into a lds church. I have no idea. I apologize Vi, that was not fair of me.

Just thought there was no need to bring religion into it. Let’s talk football in the football forum. Talk religion In the sandbox forum. If you and Vi want to take up a concern with the LDS church and the choir and church openings then start your own thread in the sandbox.

Thank you for not bringing up that usu football needs more support, usu fans are cheap and that the predominant religion in the area is at least a partial driver of it.

Yes I shouldn’t have continued on the sandbox conversation with you and Vi. Cheers and hope you are having a great day!

It hurts me to the core that BYU is playing football in 6 days and we aren't having a season.

I know the feeling as well, it's tough to comprehend. In Pennsylvania there is High School Football, The Eagles, Steelers, Temple and Pitt are playing while Penn State sits home. Notre Dame is playing while Indiana and Purdue wonder why they are not.
If the Mountain West, Pac 12 or Big 10 can save one life from Covid -19 by not playing then it will be worth it. That is what we are supposed to believe.

It's probably because I don't understand the whole eligibility, who will leave and who will be back scenarios. I wouldn't want our guys wasting eligibility for a piece-meal schedule, unless they are going to lose eligibility either way. But if you were YBU, you have a piece-meal schedule every season, so whatever. And definitely, Go Navy! And any one else who is playing the boogers.

Everyone that is currently signed to an NCAA governed institution (D-1, 2, or 3) that participates in a fall sport (I haven't seen anything about basketball and beyond ruled on) has had their eligibility frozen for a calendar year.

So Every senior on BYU's team will also be a Senior next year? Explain your comment again. I would think that if a team plays, the players will lose that year of eligibility like in any other season. Did I misunderstand you aggie22???

You understood him right. Everyone will have an additional year of elgibility per NCAA. Navy won't use it because their mission is to serve our country not have continued football aspirations, so for them it is 4 years and you're off to the fleet.

I thought the rule announced was that a 5th year would be granted to those that participated in 50% or less of the maximum number of contests allowed in a regular season for each sport. This would mean all football players participating in 7 games or more will have used a year of eligibility this season.

Has there been a more recent announcement?

"The board also approved a blanket waiver granting fall sport athletes an additional year of eligibility regardless of whether they play in fall, spring or decide against participation due to health concerns. The decision will require adjustments to scholarship limits to the respective sports, including football, women's volleyball and men's and women's soccer."

Typical NCAA if a team plays 6 or more games that year should count as a season.

I find it interesting that the LDS team is playing but their Tabernacle choir will not give any performance until Jan-1

I can't even step foot into a local LDS ward building, but we get the "Foosball"

:wtf: did you do? Are you permanently banned?

ViAggie = :devil:

The last time I even attempted to step foot in an LDS Church building was to attend a Harry Reid fireside.

One is made up of some of the healthiest people on the planet in and age range least likely to have extreme adverse effects. The other has many reaching the upper age limit of 60 years old.

Thanks! I wish the Bishop felt the same way as you do.

I'm actually sorry to hear that. It does suck when that happens.
