Lone Peak HS girls soccer was up here in the valley last Friday to play and had some girls test positive the next day. Only a matter of time til HS gets shut down.

Davis beat Herriman 24-20 tonight for the first high school game of the year. They allowed 900 people attend with the stadium that holds 4k. Sounda like it was a good game.

Re: Two Utah HS teams cancel FB game
I noticed that one of our commits, Isaac Larsen, who played for Logan last year now plays for Sky View. Did his parents actually move from Logan to the Sky View boundaries, or did he just decide to take the easy way out and play for the better team like alot of high school athletes do? We can sure hope he doesn't, from learning how easy it is to switch to a better team in high school, decide to simply transfer when he has the chance to switch to someone winning more games than we are the first time he has a chance, especially if the transfer rule change eventually passes.

Isaac's parents actually moved to Smithfield. Ike loves Utah State!GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑August 14th, 2020, 10:41 pmI noticed that one of our commits, Isaac Larsen, who played for Logan last year now plays for Sky View. Re: Two Utah HS teams cancel FB game
Were alot of fans taking their masks off with no enforcement, and leaving them off the whole time, or not having them in the first place? It would be alot of work for the teachers to watch everyone every second to make sure their masks stay on, and most teachers wouldn't care about it if they aren't given strict instructions to worry about it, and would rather just protect themselves by staying away from someone infected who takes their mask off, than infect themselves by getting close to argue with them over it.aggies22 wrote: ↑August 14th, 2020, 10:07 pmThis is true. Also, I heard all the schools are asking fans to leave as soon as the game is over.

Masks were mandatory. Everyone left immediately after the game.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑August 15th, 2020, 8:01 amWere alot of fans taking their masks off with no enforcement, and leaving them off the whole time, or not having them in the first place? You had to have a mask on for entry at Mt Crest but most took them off in stands. Lots of milling around after game. Students usually go out and form a giant circle and do a cheer after visiting team leaves the field but they would not let them last night.
Not as many people as usual in stands but a decent crowd.

Bonneville is at Sky View. This matchup features future Aggie Ike Larsen playing CB and WR for the Bobcats.
Box Elder is at Green Canyon. This matchup features future Aggie Parker Buchanan at QB for the Bees.
Cyprus is at Ridgeline.
All games are Friday night.

Re: Two Utah HS teams cancel FB game
Heard from someone in the Bingham area last Friday that the three positive tests were false positives but changes couldn't be made to get the game back on by the time they found out.
You're right about Ridgeline's game. Tough environment for kids to be in and will likely get worse with school starting.
I'm just holding out hope that the Sky View vs Green Canyon game gets played this year in hopes that GC pulls out the victory in that game this year.

2 weeks into Utah high school football and there have only been 2 games cancelled with no major outbreaks. It is pretty sad that high school football can figure out how to play, but certain college football conferences cannot.

One of the larger districts where I live just canceled all sports. Never even tried.

Re: Two Utah HS teams cancel FB game
We've been hearing that Buchanan was recruited by USU to play TE rather than QB. Having watched him in person the last few years against Green Canyon I think he'd make a good TE but shouldn't come close to playing for USU at QB. Not much of a passer and okay runner but plays in an offense that is very run focused.
Just my assessment, but to me he is a mediocre QB on a mediocre team. That doesn't usually lend itself to a player being a good QB at the next level.

Once he returns from his mission, Buchanan with play TE or possibly DE/LB.Bigd23 wrote: ↑August 22nd, 2020, 8:55 pmWe've been hearing that Buchanan was recruited by USU to play TE rather than QB. Makes sense and I think he'd be a good fit and player at those positions.
