Re: Potential New Transfer
Unless someone that I am not aware of has bailed, we don't have a scholarship for him. I'm sure we might consider taking him as a preferred walk-on. Just because a kid leaves byu doesn't mean he is going to be better than the kids we already have. We gotta get beyond the little brother stuff.

Re: Potential New Transfer
I agree that our skill payers are better than theirs, I just think it would be fun to see multiple players on their team transfer here.aggies22 wrote: ↑July 30th, 2020, 4:18 pmUnless someone that I am not aware of has bailed, we don't have a scholarship for him. Re: Potential New Transfer
As long as it's as a preferred walk-on, I'm good with it. Right now, it's too early for me to confirm but I'll work on it.AggieUprising50 wrote: ↑July 30th, 2020, 4:21 pmI agree that our skill payers are better than theirs, I just think it would be fun to see multiple players on their team transfer here.aggies22 wrote: ↑July 30th, 2020, 4:18 pmUnless someone that I am not aware of has bailed, we don't have a scholarship for him. I am over the little brother thing, but I will never be over schadenfreude when it comes to the byu-provo tigersaggies22 wrote: ↑July 30th, 2020, 4:18 pmUnless someone that I am not aware of has bailed, we don't have a scholarship for him. Re: Potential New Transfer
Sounds like he wants to go to the university with more alumni who are active NFL players than BYU. Smart move.GeoAg wrote: ↑July 30th, 2020, 5:27 pmI am over the little brother thing, but I will never be over schadenfreude when it comes to the byu-provo tigersaggies22 wrote: ↑July 30th, 2020, 4:18 pmUnless someone that I am not aware of has bailed, we don't have a scholarship for him. Re: Potential New Transfer
According to this SI arctile, https://www.si.com/college/byu/news/rep ... fer-portal, he was a PWO at BYU so if he was to be a PWO here at USU, he wouldn't really be in a worse spot. He also was expected to compete for the two-deep this year. So if he was to sit out a year this year (as a freshman), we should expect him to compete for the two-deep as a sophomore.

Re: Potential New Transfer
Did we recruit him before? I've heard a common reason for a waiver for eligibility is if a walk on player goes to be a walk on at another school that didn't recruit him.

Re: Potential New Transfer
I JUST spoke with Jaylon. He is waiting on official admission BUT it sounds like a done deal on the football side of things.

Not that we need more evidence now that '22 has spoken, but he's been liking all the tweets linking him to USU.

Re: Potential New Transfer
This explains why he cut our interview off halfway through. Perhaps he was denied by admissions?

Haha, is this for real? You were interviewing him and he paused halfway through and was like, "sorry, gotta run"?

Re: Potential New Transfer
Does this mean we can start saying, "he wanted to go here, but couldn't cut it academically" like the provo tools do?
Best of luck to Mr. Vickers. We have no need for wishy washy around here.

I believe the term the youngsters use these days is "ghosted". Oh well.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑August 4th, 2020, 8:31 amHaha, is this for real? You were interviewing him and he paused halfway through and was like, "sorry, gotta run"?
