Okay, so for those that doubt what JS was told or led to believe as a transfer coming from Utah - when you see it straight from one that has walked the same path - can you finally admit that you're kidding yourself to think HC was going to get a fair shake at this? Beside the fact it was a douche move to make just a couple of weeks from camp, the fact the transfer was coming from Utah meant the writing was on the wall for HC and Repp confirms it with his statement. He was immediately moved to QB 1B........ at best.
I think you are misinterpreting what Repp is saying. To me, his tweet says: "I know y'all are concerned about Colombi leaving and Shelley stepping in, but Utes perform well when they move up to USU."

To further the point, I think even Jordan Nathan is saying that it was going to be a competition, which Henry considered to be a slap in the face. Nowhere in this discussion do I see anything that points to "Shelley is QB1, sorry Henry." Whether or not that was an actual conversation, it doesn't appear here.
That is a very accurate read of how this all went down, and what was said by these two players.

It does, but isnt going away. It is part of our world now and will only be more part of it as the generation that grew up on it grow up and run the world.

Again, how's he goin' to "ball out" from the sidelines? The point is GA has gone and got these guys with the intent of having them contribute immediately. This case is no different....except that there's only one of this position on the field.

Good for Henry. I hope he has a lot of success and enjoys his last couple years of college ball. I wish things would have shaken out differently, but he has to do what is best for him. I'll be following his progress in Lubbock and thank him for his service to USU.

It hurts to get recruited over. Anybody remember Craig Smith? All American freakish high school QB. He got recruited over. Ended up an overlong strong safety because the coach liked the Texas Longhorn freshman who was looking at being lost on the bench as a sophomore. Craig had a lot of community and player support. "Ace" was the complete package, the kind of kid anybody would love build a team around.

Except ... Touchdown Tony Adams.

Would anybody really say the coaches made a mistake recruiting over Ace?

HC went to TT and Shelley quit at Utah. I think thats a big stretch to say Gary recruited over HC.

Except that's how teams get better this year than they were last year. They recruit over the guys they've got.

As between GA and that other fellow, if you ask me who has the better eye for talent, I'll answer with a question: "Which year?"

HC will put up bigger numbers at TT but JS probably fits GA’s desire for a ball control offense better. Both should do well. I would have loved to have had both HC and JS on the roster but in the end, for the Aggies I believe GA made us better.

Are you saying DHC was a package deal with JS? He was only coming if JS got the job ?

Great news for HC. I hope he kills it at TT. I for one have no problem with GA going after JS. Every good coach is always recruiting and upgrading the overall talent whenever the opportunity presents itself. That being said, IF he thought HC had a chance to be his starter he should have had multiple conversations with HC before pulling the trigger on JS. Seems to me that he was comfortable with HC leaving given how he managed it.

As for the team, my guess is that they will be fine. I love the Jordan Nathan tweeted what he did in defense of HC and that he spoke his mind. That needs to happen and is part the process. As for Shelley as our next starter, I have a very close friend who had two sons play at the UofU and they still follow the Utes very closely. He thinks JS will be a great player for us and he is very clear that JS has a very good arm as well as an ability to run the ball. I wish HC was still with us but looking forward to seeing what this new offensive backfield can do. Go Aggies.

I’ve been kind of a dick when it comes to Colombi transferring and it’s mainly because I feel like people are bashing our staff way too much when in reality he is leaving on his terms.

Anyways, this is me saying good for him... he transferred to a place he wants to be.

Now I bet people talk crap about wells for stealing him and then I’ll be back to being in a bad mood.

Tech is by no means a guaranteed starter spot for Colombi. They've got a kid coming back from injury, Alan Bowman, that was very impressive in 2018 and is being talked about as a blackhorse for some conference honors. Maybe Bowman will transfer now, and the cycle will go on forever.

Nice call-out. Yeah it would surprise the heck out of me if colombi ever starts unless this kid doesn’t stay healthy. Weird choice. Read this kids bio.

Except that's how teams get better this year than they were last year. They recruit over the guys they've got.

As between GA and that other fellow, if you ask me who has the better eye for talent, I'll answer with a question: "Which year?"
oh, so you are in the camp that JS was essentially promised the job?
I'm in the camp that asks myself, "Why would GA bring in a one-year-wonder Sr QB if he isn't coming in as a starter?"
I am pretty sure shelley has 2 years remaining.
Jason Shelley absolutely has 2 years of eligibility remaining.

The funny thing is, the talk late in 2016 was concerns about him staying committed to us, in spite of our program being in such disarray cause of Matt Wells. But it turned out, he came CAUSE of Wells, not in spite of him, and left cause of Andersen. In contrast to the talk from 2015-17 being how Wells was ONLY successful in 2013 and 14 cause of what Andersen built and that any coach, even Brent Guy would have had success those first two years, and the talk in 2016 being that "Gary's guys are gone"

Colombi is going to light it up at some P5 school. This was a complete bungle by Gary.

Let's pump the brakes a bit.
If Texas Tech fans want him to light it up for them, they first need to call for Wells and Yost to be fired!

Colombi is apparently walking on at Tech.

It’s really too bad how this all shook out.
It sucks for him but he had a scholarship here. He was not forced to transfer and now he is a walk on. He for sure could have went to G5 school on scholarship.
