Re: New QB transfer?
Is it common to have 9 Running Backs on a team now being built around a QB who is also just 90% RB?

Re: New QB transfer?
We really only have 3 scholarship running backs. So that would be huge.

Re: New QB transfer?
We currently have 3 running backs, a special teams stud, a walk-on that might turn into something, and two guys that somehow got security clearance to be in the running backs room.
We could certainly use a fourth running back.
We could certainly use a fourth running back.

We going triple option baby! Lets go two TEs on the end of the line and 3 RBs in the backfield. We are a service academy now.

Re: New QB transfer?
Darn, I was secretly hoping for a 17th TE on this team!
This is intriguing though because I would have to think this means the player in question is not coming from Utah. Of all their RB's the only ones that could even remotely be considered someone who might be viewed as a potential contributor are Wilmore and Brumfield?

Maybe Devontae Henry-Cole changed his mind after he realized that byu-p sucks.Aglicious wrote: ↑July 17th, 2020, 9:08 amDarn, I was secretly hoping for a 17th TE on this team!

Yeah, immediately ran through Utah roster to see who it might be, but they look thin now minus Devontae.Aggie19 wrote: ↑July 17th, 2020, 9:23 amMaybe Devontae Henry-Cole changed his mind after he realized that byu-p sucks.Aglicious wrote: ↑July 17th, 2020, 9:08 amDarn, I was secretly hoping for a 17th TE on this team!

Another RB would be welcome. Jaylen is great but has struggled to stay healthy, the two freshman will be great, but are true freshmen.

Re: New QB transfer?
Most teams prefer to carry 5 scholarship running backs. We have 3. I know looking at the depth chart it looks like we have a $hit load of running backs available but allow me to break it down.
20 Jaylen Warren (5-8, 215, Sr., 1L, 3*) He saw a ton of carries last year but struggled with injuries.
2 John Gentry (5-10, 195, Fr., HS, 3*) He will challenge to start.
34 Elelyon Noa (5-9, 180, Fr., HS, 3*) Badly broke his ankle less 10 months ago, he might not be ready to go yet.
26 Chase Nelson (5-10, 200, Sr., 2L, NR) Good athlete but will see most of his time on special teams
28 Oakley Hussey (6-1, 200, RsFr., RS, NR) Very athletic but spent last year at safety
32 Bryan Lumsden (5-9, 195, Jr., TR, NR) He has to sit out as a transfer
29 Pailate Makakona (5-10, 200, RsSo., SQ, NR) Walk-on who could add value in short-yardage situations
31 Cooper Jones (5-6, 165, So., JC, NR) Could end up at slot receiver

Re: New QB transfer?
He needs to understand what the word unconditionally means. His offer sounds like it is conditional on John Hartwell being our AD.

Re: New QB transfer?
So he would still send recruits even with Gary as head coach as long as John is here? Seems like if you have an issue with the head coach you’d steer clear. Since John isn’t the one coaching them.

I agrre with her statement. Although i dont think most are mad at Jason,he took an opportunity and is running with it. I think we all hope he succeeds the timing was just a little odd. I am 100% behind Jason and hope he tears it up.

I'm actually really smart, probably smarter than you are so if you disagree with what I have stated in this post, you are likely wrong (and dumb).
Re: New QB transfer?
Yeah, we wouldn’t want the Big 12 pre-season player of the year. ESPECIALLY had he taken a stand for something he believes in!
