Re: Pray there is a season
Grain of salt....
A player's girlfriend relayed part of a conversation between Gary and her boyfriend:
"Gary was saying he expects the Mountain West to do the same as the PAC 12 and go conference only, they're also possibly looking to push back the 8 conference games to spring 2021."
I just want Aggie football
And no matter what happens, I hope it screws the Zoobs.

Well done Vi! With that type of attitude and action we no doubt will have a season.

Re: Pray there is a season
I think thats is exactly why I wouldn't happen. If going behind closed doors is necessary, how do we do tell unpaid college students that they have to live in a "bubble" for months. Away from family and friends (and girls.) All while they are supposed to do online classes. Who is footing the bill for the expenses associated with the bubble. The NCAA can't pay for 130 teams to do that. The MW isn't in a financial state to do so either. USU certainly can't. The big schools and conferences could afford it but outside of the P5 it isn't happening. And who is negotiating this on the side of the students? They don't have a union or CBA.
If a bubble is required to play, the landscape of college athletics doesn't make it easy at all.

Re: Pray there is a season
So places like WalMart, Carnival Cruises, several meat packing plants, nursing homes, etc. all have lawsuits from people that contracting the coronavirus in their facilities. Many big businesses are going to be asking the government for money to help fight lawsuits against them in the next stimulus package.
I have been saying this for months, but....
Do we really think that universities are going to expose themselves to similar lawsuits from people getting sick in their facilities? I just don't see how football (and probably even basketball, or any college sports for that matter) will be played with live spectators, if at all. The participants are still exposed to each other and run the risk of contracting the virus. They are amateur athletes and have no contractual obligation to participate and can't be forced to participate. I just don't see it happening.

I know this article is from an LDS magazine or what not but the guy is the head viral researcher at Pfizer and I think it gives us a little reason for hope. (I hope this isn't too sandboxy).

Re: Pray there is a season
That’s was a pretty lame jab. Right now we need all the prayer and help from the almighty than maybe never before. If you don’t believe or think any of that will help that’s fine. No sense taking a jab at many that do.
