Who do you want to beat the most this season?
My vote goes for Nevada simply because it's their last season in the WAC and their fans have to be the biggest idiots when it comes to being rational in the entire country.

Easily BYU. Who knows when we'll play Nevada again? We play BYU every year and just signed a 2 for 1 with them. If we win down there it will really turn a lot of heads. Plus, BYU should be decent this year and Nevada is losing a lot from last year and going to the media black hole of the MWC. However, if beating Nevada puts us near the top of the WAC standings, I'd take that over a win @ BYU.

This sounds good, but the poll was asking about the basketball season.justinmorrey wrote:Easily BYU. Who knows when we'll play Nevada again? How bout our first round NCAA tournament opponent. And if not this season, our first round NCAA opponent in 2013. Assuming it's inevitible we're not winning a tournament game this next year, I would trade a number of losses this year for an NCAA win the next year.
I would rather go 17-14 with as many as four home losses in 2011-12 but get to the NCAA tournament and WIN our first round game in 2013, than get two more 20 win, undefeated at home, seasons but first round losses both years.

1) BYU, for one it's them, and two it's on our home court and I want to dominate them
2) Mississippi St., SEC team on the road, will come in handy in March
3) Kent St./Wichita St., both tough games with March implications
4) Nevada, send em off right! The backstabbers!
5) NMSU, send Wendslydale off into oblivion with a season sweep at the hands of the True Aggies

Re: Who do you want to beat the most this season?
I understand. And in all fairness to Brockeith, and Brady as well who wouldn't like that idea either, I would be EQUALLY willing to get a tournament win in 12 but go 17-14 with four home losses in 12-13.AggieAthletics wrote:Brokeith is not a fan of your post.GameFAQSAggie wrote:How bout our first round NCAA tournament opponent. I obviously want to get an NCAA tornament win both years. And I do actually think our chances of getting one in 13 are better if we have experience from being there in 12. It's just that I'll gladly trade a medocre year for a tournament win.
Re: Who do you want to beat the most this season?
I put Weber St because they will be one of our toughest preseason games. We will obviously beat YBU and I'm not sure how Miss St will show. If we should lose I would prefer it be to someone in our conference.

Mississippi State. Gives us name recognition out east, which could be big for the program... Didn't a few years back they have a big that averaged like 4 blocks a game?

Re: Who do you want to beat the most this season?
Eric Dampier? I'd call that more than a few years back though.
Re: Who do you want to beat the most this season?
BYU is emotionally nice to beat, and they will be good this year, but nothing will do more for USU Basketball than to go into the Hump* and beat the Bulldogs. Of course, I have a dog on each side of the pit in that one, so I really find myself wanting a 7 OT tie, but that can't happen. So, from a purely "what would be best for the Aggies" point of view, beating MSU at their place on New Year's Eve, and on the eve of SEC play and national press for them and WAC play and some regional press for us, is hands down the most important potential win on the Aggie schedule.
*The Hump is the nickname given to MSU's arena, Humphry Coliseum.

Re: Who do you want to beat the most this season?
1. Miss St - Yes it's great to beat BYU, but I don't know how good they'll be. Miss St should be an NCAA tournament team. Beating them in Starkville would be great. Plus I'll be there.
2. BYU - They're still BYU.
3. NMSU - I don't really care that much about beating them, I just hate losing to them.
4. Wichita St - They'll be out for payback. Beating them in Wichita--a really tough venue--would be awesome.
5. Hawaii/Nevada - To show these two teams that many are picking to win the WAC that USU is still the team to beat.

His name was Jarvis Varnardo. He got drafted by the Heat, but is playing in Italy... because he figured he wasn't going to make a team that had the star power of the Heat. In the quick looking up I did he had 564 blocks in 141 career games.

Well the last time (for now) we played (and will play) Utah we beat them by 17.
I hope the Wildcats do better. Good luck!

Re: Who do you want to beat the most this season?
i didnt vote on here but byu and nevada would be my choice. i was at the usu game in provo last yr. even with jimmer and 8 on 5 it was barely a win. also it was pretty cool seeing a bunch of yellow school buses show up with students chanting.WILDCAT wrote:For us Weber fans, the team we want to beat the most is Utah since after this year Utah is giving us the big F-U
since utah is now a piece of **** and is too good for weber st (a road game 40 miles away) then i now want to beat them more than anyone on our schedule. normally usu generates the most excitement on our ooc schedule when its in ogden but utah really needs to get schooled for its last ever game in ogden.
dec 22 utah at weber
Been waiting for a win in the Spectrum since 1994...thats 2 years longer than Utes fans!
