You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I watched him play in their game last year against Bear River. The kid is a fierce competitor.

Is he coming in as a QB?

The times I watched him I admired his toughness and athleticism, but would not have considered him a D1 QB type player. I would imagine we recruited him to convert him to safety, which he'll have to learn.

He’s athletic for his size but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a safety that size. Maybe TE, DE or OLB? Is the fact he was recruited by Coach Maile indicate he is likely to play on the defensive side or is it more because Maile covers Utah recruiting?

I think maile as he is from Utah.

I agree Iowa with the position analysis. I didn’t see the speed in his video for a receiver.

Reminds me of a quarterback we recruited from Arizona a few years ago. Coaches coverted him to an edge rusher. It turned
pretty good for us and he has been earning a pretty good paycheck in the nfl for the last few years.

Yes. We recruited Parker to play tight end or outside linebacker.

This one is really surprising, must be based on potential alone. As 22 said he’s going to have to move to TE or some other spot as he’s clearly not a QB. He’s a big strong kid, but his athleticism doesn’t jump off the page at you. The knock has always been his lack of composure when things aren’t going his way, that should change with some maturity, I would think.

Love the kid's toughness. TE, not Edge, I'm thinking. That toughness on the double teams against olbs or des in running plays coupled with running over safeties and CBS. Yeah, love this rangy kid.

Does anyone remember Paul Kreuger at Utah?

Iirc Paul didn't play DE un HS. And I believe coach A was at Utah then.

Newest Commitment

Post by GeorgiaAggie » April 24th, 2020, 11:42 am

With all the great news about Love, it’s kind of gone unnoticed that we got another commitment from Parker Buchanan from Box Elder. He played QB but is listed as an athlete. Question for 22. What position was he recruited to play?

Gotta say, not that impressed. Dixie State didn’t even offer. He looked slow and stiff.

Agreed. The things you mentioned, and his lack of “head guts” If you will is why there is very little interest from other schools. As I mentioned earlier this one is really surprising, I hope whatever the coaches see in him really pans out.
