POLL: How far did you think the Ags would go?
We should be filling out brackets tomorrow. I was curious to see what everybody was thinking. How far did you have them? Obviously we won’t have the matchups, but what was your gut saying? I really felt like this was the Ags year to make some noise!

Re: POLL: How far did you think the Ags would go?
Honestly, NCAA should tell everyone of where they stood tomorrow at that point in the season for colleges and fans. So people know what seed and who got in by the real NCAA ranking.FL350Aggie wrote: ↑March 14th, 2020, 10:40 amWe should be filling out brackets tomorrow. Re: POLL: How far did you think the Ags would go?
I think we had it us to win the first game no matter of matchup. We can compete with anyone at the 5-8 range depending on what seed we got. I really do think this team is a team of destiny, they were going to will themselves to a victory no matter what. That second game, depending on our seed and what not, I think we would definitely have a chance for an upset. Even if we got an 9 or seed and would face a 1 or 2 seed outside of Kansas.
Gonzaga: we could play with them
Dayton: we could play with them
Baylor: tougher but we could play with them
Florida State: we could play with them
Creighton: we could play with them
Villanova: we could play with them
Sam Diogo State: the name says it all
Duke: I would love to play against Duke this year
Now I’m not saying that first game is a guarantee, in the tourney, nothing ever is. But I think we would be 50/50 or even favored in any game in the 5-8 range. I think with how Sam is playing though, and with the team playing pretty well right now, I would pick us in the first game. The second game I would give us a 70/30 chance at winning. I think in this game it would come down to matchups and if they had a very good game plan against us. I would be most concerned with Kansas obviously, Baylor, and Florida State, though this year I think we have our best chance against good power 5 schools.
If we can make it past the first weekend, then everything is out the window, we can play with anyone at that point.

The NCAA is considering releasing an official bracket. - I’m guessing it would help some coaches get their bonuses.

This has us losing the first round. I would have us winning a game but history is not on our side.

"what might've been" is such a painful statement.

Elite 8: I'll take that.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

This would be a dream scenario! Aggies and Aztecs to the elite 8 while BYU gets sent packing on the first day to Marquette.USUMAE wrote:"what might've been" is such a painful statement.

Dude, we would have won it all. Like Butler but we hit the shot.

We would have rolled the first team we played, this was a very special year, and we were undefeated vs P5 schools this year.

I kind of feel like we were a better team last year.

I think we were better last year, but I feel we would have been better in the tournament this year due to the experience last year. We played tight last year because we hadn't been there before. This was our year, thanks corona.

This team was hitting its stride at the right time of the season. I would have liked our chances to win a couple of games.

Re: POLL: How far did you think the Ags would go?
NBC simulated a bracket and has us losing to Illinois by 1. Miller went 1/8 from 3 with his only make at the buzzer down 4. Brito 0/6. Bairstow plays with a broken arm and goes 2/2 from 3 and somehow Kuba, Dorius, and Roche all play despite a one point game.

So pretty much it’s infallible. That’s top notch right there.QuackAttackAggie wrote:NBC simulated a bracket and has us losing to Illinois by 1. Re: POLL: How far did you think the Ags would go?
i voted for one and done. the MWC tournament was amazing. the team is good when they are playing well. but it was only a week before "the shot" that people were saying this was the biggest disappointment in a long time (I really disagreed with that, because my expectations were not really top-15 this year). We had trouble with wyoming and new mexico (x2). SDSU limped into the championship game and were clearly ranked much much higher than they should have been, though they're still a good team and deserved a high seed.
I think we would have gotten an 11 or so seed and had a 30-40% chance of winning. I just can't say we would likely have won one game, much less two. It doesn't take away from the season or the players. This is my favorite team, and Sam is my favorite aggie ever, maybe with the exception of Chuckie. Maybe.

Re: POLL: How far did you think the Ags would go?
I went one and done as well. I think we would have been a 10/7 matchup against someone like Arizona that has a few NBA guys but underachieved and the talent gap would have been too great. Sam and Queta are as good as anyone, but after that the talent gap gets really wide.QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑March 17th, 2020, 8:34 pmi voted for one and done. the MWC tournament was amazing. the team is good when they are playing well. but it was only a week before "the shot" that people were saying this was the biggest disappointment in a long time (I really disagreed with that, because my expectations were not really top-15 this year). Re: POLL: How far did you think the Ags would go?
I feel like we were the same team both years. Sam is great, Queta is good. Bean = Quinn and we have no shooters. We can beat good, even great teams. But when we face an athletic team like Washington and we can’t hit shots we’re screwed.NVAggie wrote:I think we were better last year, but I feel we would have been better in the tournament this year due to the experience last year.
