I thought they called him for not giving the shooter a landing zone.

Interesting call given what happened to Merrill on his final shot.

Anyone see the play in the first half where Queta stepped out of bounds on a dunk??He was in by at least a foot.

It looked like his foot slid right after that. Of course we never saw a replay.

Nope replay clearly showed he never got close to baseline, his screen foul was also a total garbage call

I rewound it to watch it again to see if I had missed something because I couldn't believed he called that. It wasn't even close and the camera was on him the whole play until he finished it off. That old guy made two or three really bad calls in my opinion.

That was absolutely awful. Seeing it originally I thought it was a bad call. Now that I see a replay, that was worse than bad. ATROCIOUS.

The screen foul should've been on Porter. He hung his left elbow out and leaned into the defender. Queta didn't do squat.

As far as the OP, yes, it was for not giving the shooter space to land.
As far as bad calls, there was one in the first half where a SDSU player was saving the ball from going out of bounds under our basket. His toes were just inside the line, but it looked like he bounced the ball before tossing to his teammate. I couldn’t see a great angle of it and they didn’t replay it, but I couldn’t figure out how it wasn’t out of bounds. Anyone else remember this play?

I do remember what play you are talking about and I thought the exact same thing.

In the ref’s defense: Queta’s foot almost touched that hash mark line though.

Wouldn’t that count as being out of bounds as the hash mark line is connected to the baseline?

“Almost” is not the the same thing as actually touching it.

The ref has no defense.

I’m really not trying to be a bias fan, but that Neemy call out of bounds and them forgetting what the three point line was in Anderson’s shot when they played BYU were the dumbest mistakes I’ve ever seen an official make.

Is it a mistake when it's intentional?

It’s hard to ref and mistakes happen. However, It was clear he wasn’t even close to the line and the ref’s view was unobstructed. Someone at USU ought to send this to the MWC and ask them to review it if for no other reason than training.
