Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
Dang. Very thin on guard line with Abel hobbled and Brock having a down year.

4 guys for the 3 guard/wing spots. Need to get Anderson some time there especially if Abel is hobbled.
Wish him a speedy recovery. Hope he still gets an off-season to improve.

Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
I called that crap out on the Brito play last night. It should be a flagrant foul and eliminated from the game.hipsterdoofus21 wrote:I hate that under cutting flop crap.
A guy like Bairstow makes a pass and then some jack wing sets up and blind sided him. It’s dangerous.

Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
Is it confirmed broken? He was walking towards the table to go back in before they checked it. I know he was on a sling but I was hoping it wasn't actually broken.

Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
Yeah do we know for sure? Would they have had the equipment to x-ray it that fast or diagnose it? I don’t know much about this stuff, but it seems to me at the end of the game they wouldn’t have fully known it was broken. I broke my arm snowboarding and ski patrol (not doctors I know) told me it might be broken and bound it up. I finished out the day got back to Logan to later find out I broke it.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑March 7th, 2020, 9:31 pmIs it confirmed broken? It is now confirmed. Bairstow tweeted it out and then the tweet was removed

Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
It's the same "defenseless" argument that has been a huge focus in the NCAA football ranks with targeting and such. When a guy is jumping in the air and you don't give him a landing zone he is "defenseless" in the air. Especially since that guy in the air is usually looking where he's passing.dyedblue wrote: ↑March 7th, 2020, 9:26 pmI called that crap out on the Brito play last night. Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
Agreed. The jumping offensive player is already airborne and then under cut by a defender who sets up shop after he's jumped. It should be a foul on the defensive player.hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑March 8th, 2020, 12:10 amIt's the same "defenseless" argument that has been a huge focus in the NCAA football ranks with targeting and such. Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
Does anyone know if there is an x-ray machine anywhere in the state of Nevada? If so, does it produce results as fast as x-ray machines found in other states or is there an extra delayed processing time?

Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
This brings up one of my other complaints. How is that a charge when ducking under him when he's running full speed to the paint and then taking one more step to jump is setting himself up for being defenseless. He was clearly injured by an irresponsible and dangerous play by the defender and, thus, broke his arm. That's horrific and it's why the charge call called that way in that area is wrong and doesn't belong in basketball. The defender must have his feet set first for at least a couple of seconds.
I hate the charge call in basketball these days.

Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
Seems strange that there is a defender out of no where in Bairstow's way after the pass consistently. I know that Bairstow makes freshmen mistakes since he is a freshmen, but it is fishy to me that this is happening so often.AggieFBObsession wrote: ↑March 8th, 2020, 9:34 amThis brings up one of my other complaints. Re: Bairstow Broken Arm
I feel bad for him. One thing he needs to do is get stronger for next year. This will set him back a little bit. How long does a broken arm take to heal?

It’s not just him. It happens at least once in every college game. There was a similarly brutal play in the Creighton game yesterday.SLB wrote:Seems strange that there is a defender out of no where in Bairstow's way after the pass consistently. Why do we worry about landing zones for shooting but not on the drive?dyedblue wrote: ↑March 8th, 2020, 6:43 pmIt’s not just him. It happens at least once in every college game. It wasn't a compound fracture by any means. He'll be fine and be back by fall I"m sure.

I’m sure his non-surgical injury will heal as rapidly as Queta’s did.AggieFBObsession wrote: ↑March 8th, 2020, 7:37 pmIt wasn't a compound fracture by any means. He'll be fine and be back by fall I"m sure.
