Lack of respect
Lack of respect
I sometimes get the feeling that Coach Smith doesn’t really give our own broadcast (Scottie G) the consideration or time to always make an after game interview a priority. He always gives the tv an interview but seems to only give Scottie an interview if it’s convenient.
I always try to sync the Aggie broadcast to the tv and enjoy the home team bias. I’m a homer that way and I suspect I’m not the only one. And I always stick around to listen to the after game show. I would like to hear what Smith has to say - especially after a game like this.

Re: Lack of respect
I like Scotty G but 1280 doesnt exactly give USU the time of day at times either. He does a great job as play by play though.

Re: Lack of respect
Probably has an obligation to do TV if he can only do 1 and it’s much better for the program for him to do national tv interviews than local radio and I’m sure Scotty G understands
Re: Lack of respect
Scottie has actually given us a portal into the mainstream Utah sports talk world. We’re certainly not in the conversation on the Wasatch front as much as Utah or BYU yet, but I think we’re in it more than we ever have been. And that’s because of Scottie G.
Al was great because he was our Al. But we were a quirky little afterthought from a farm town with no relevance in the bulk of the population in Utah. We’re not on equal footing yet - and maybe we never will be - but we’re more exposed than we ever have been - and that’s because of Scottie G.

Re: Lack of respect
I think Coach Smith gives good interviews with Scotty after the games. He rambles on a lot, but he seems sincere. I loved his passion going down the stretch. He even got so fired up the tie came off.

Re: Lack of respect
Smith typically comes on with Scotty, but at the tournament they have obligations to the press and TV.
