9 seed Air Force knocks off 8 seed Fresno State 77-70.
For a game vs the 1 seed Aztecs tomorrow.

Re: MWC Tourney Results
That was a little shocking as Fresno had dominated them in the regular season. AF shot lights out from 3 which is always the great equalizer.

Re: MWC Tourney Results
Watching the game, if we had Air Force point guard we easily win at least 4 more games this year. Fresno pressed and he beat the double team every time without turnovers and he can shoot. Even if he never scored just being able to break the orres would have won a coupe of games for us.

New Mexico looks good so far against SJSU. They are playing better. If we play them it will be a tough game.

Re: MWC Tourney Results
New Mexico has talent.. Started the season off great with a few really nice wins but just fell apart during later part of January and February. They still have high potential and I’m MUCH more nervous about getting past them than Nev/CSU in the semi’s.

Re: MWC Tourney Results
NM should have beaten SJS by 30. But they have a few very athletic showboats that took undisciplined shots. Three player scored 90% of UNM’s points. There were lots of Lobo fans.

I’m calling it now. Aggies are going to come in with a vengeance and UNM will come in with swagger, but won’t be mentally prepared for the Aggies’ intensity. We’re gonna win this one. If not, then we should be glad for the NIT.

They always bring a great crowd to the tournament. there'll be a solid Aggie contingency but it won't be as big as New Mexico. Can't wait to get down there tomorrow and see the game hopefully the Aggies come out with guns blazing.

Wyoming up 5 at half! They are playing pretty well considering how bad they looked for most of the season.

Re: MWC Tourney Results
It’s probably been hashed out on the board before, but how did a Cache Valley boy like Hendricks wind up at Wyoming? He’s a player!

Sometimes he’s a player.
He’s really streaky. Not sure he could have found a way onto this team (insert Brock Miller reply here).

Re: MWC Tourney Results
The Pack played Wyoming twice this season and both games came down to the last play. They are playing an all guard lineup, they spread the floor and knock down 3's..I expect a very tough game tomorrow..Hopefully they will be tired..

Re: MWC Tourney Results
Of the 4 semifinal games tomorrow, IMO these are the most difficult from hardest to easiest for the higher seeded teams:
1. UNLV/BSU
2. NM/USU
3. Nevada/Wyoming
4. AFA/SDS

Re: MWC Tourney Results
I completely agree. We will be looking for revenge, similar to our second game against UNLV. And like that game, I expect NM to come out strong, but die down in the end. Partly because they are an athletic but undisciplined team, and partly because they played the night before and won’t have the stamina to hang with the Aggies for 40 minutes.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑March 4th, 2020, 5:53 pmI’m calling it now. Las Vegas has us as 11 point favorites and Nevada as 9 point favorites interestingly enough.

do you think it being Spring Break will help the Aggie crowd this year?Aggie84025 wrote: ↑March 4th, 2020, 6:04 pmThey always bring a great crowd to the tournament. there'll be a solid Aggie contingency but it won't be as big as New Mexico. I wish I had confidence in the point spread. If I remember correctly, we were 8.5 point favorites last weekend.Sl7vk wrote: ↑March 5th, 2020, 8:04 amLas Vegas has us as 11 point favorites and Nevada as 9 point favorites interestingly enough.

Re: MWC Tourney Results
The best way to remedy your lack of confidence is to put a large sum of money on New Mexico covering the 11 points.

Re: MWC Tourney Results
with 2 upsets in round 1 (lower seed winning) how come we didn't get that benefit? Too bad SJSU didn't drink the upset water that WYO and AFA did.
