Honestly you could see this coming.
Doesn’t matter, we’re playing much better and we still got our chances to win some big games down the stretch.

Re: Damn you Gonzaga
BYU is a good team this year and various players hit big shots down the stretch. They earned it.
Helps us as well.

Re: Damn you Gonzaga
Good for them and while I have no problem with the excitement and court storming, hearing Pope’s postgame interview on ESPN someone may want to tell him and the fans that tonight’s win didn’t clinch a conference title. He sounded like they were going to cut down some nets.
Re: Damn you Gonzaga
Game report:
I had a kid go rogue. We raised him right but sometimes they just do that. We’re trying to repair a relationship with prodigal son so wife and I end up in Provo about twice per year - usually go to a football and basketball game with him. We went last night.
BYU has numerous confident three point shooters. They punish any team that doubles their big guy. Anyone on the floor takes an open 3 with zero hesitation - and they make a respectable amount of them - especially when they need them the most. The 3s result in opening up the middle more.
BYU has 4, 5 even 6 guys shooting the long ball with confidence. We have 1.
The BYU crowd was into the game. They do have numbers - I will give them that. But they are not as clever or coordinated as our herd. They earned a big win and deserved to storm the court and celebrate a little. Their win last night , in my guesstimate, was 70% on the BYU crowd and 30% players and coaches. Gonzaga was a bit rattled by the sheer size of the crowd.

I worry the same thing about Craig Smith. I’m sure both of them could leave soon.

He's twice chosen BYU. That should really tell you all you need to know about him. Good riddance.
You guys need to quit pining after a zoobie.

Yeah, the last thing our Aggie team needs is an elite three point shooter that could probably propel us to the sweet 16.

I didn't watch their game last night,,,if in fact it was last night. There are summaries available on sports T V that bring scores of interest to my attention. I don't even know the score from last night except that the Provo school reportedly won. Let them go mount themselves at their pleasure.

Let's keep clean here. That's also an honor code violation too.
On our team.. somehow we have won some decent games. We still have a good team. Just different but still successful

I started to watch the game and it lasted 30 second and then I couldn't take it any longer! I just wish we could have played them in the Spectrum this season and picked up a win.

We certainly could use his 46% 3pt shooting.

Pair him with Sam and Queta and we would be an elite team. Pining? I just want to take advantage of two of the most talented players we’ve ever had.

Re: Damn you Gonzaga
Yea, but with adjustment downward for the Nike ball, his 3pt shooting would have dropped to 30%Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑February 23rd, 2020, 2:45 pmWe certainly could use his 46% 3pt shooting.

If being tired of certain family members, neighbors, or coworkers who are zoobs and having to hear your whole life how not only does their poo not stink, but it is the most desirable of all the poo created makes you a "little brother" then I guess you can use that label all you want.oleblu111 wrote: ↑February 23rd, 2020, 4:15 pmWho is in your head more YBU or me ? The way I was raised it was Love the Aggies and hate all things Cougars and Utes. All one declarative sentence, and to be followed in that order. Above all though, I'm a sports fan and enjoy regional match ups so even if I hadn't been raised to hate byu I would've tuned in just like I tuned into Nevada and Fresno. The Aggies weren't on, so what else would I watch, the NBA? This was the second or third time I've even seen byu basketball this season. I didn't even watch the game against the Aggies.

Re: Damn you Gonzaga
I'm not sure how much is Pope at this point. This was an all or nothing year for BYU...they had been waiting for this group to be Seniors for a long time. Pope should get credit for getting Childs to come back and for adding Toolson to the mix but we'll see what Pope is made of once all these Seniors move on all at once.

Re: Damn you Gonzaga
I openly dislike BYU and I'd rather have beaten BYU; but that opportunity has passed us.
Absent beating them, I'd prefer they win some WCC games (and big ones) so it isn't a bad loss for us. This year, I'm glad BYU is doing well. We are still very much a bubble team and the better the teams that beat us do, the more likely we can squeak in as an 11 seed or something.
If the difference is BYU doing well and USU going to the Tournament, or BYU doing not-so-well and USU going to the NIT... I'll want BYU to do well.
Do you love USU more than you hate BYU? That's the ultimate question in these debates. For me I love USU.

It isnt envy to cheer against your rival. It is fun. This is entertainment after all. It also isnt wrong to tip your cap when they get a big win. They got a good team. Glad yoeli is gone after this year. Hopefully we can beat sdsu in vegas and win a game in March. I envy BYU because of the level of fan support they have 18,900 to a basketball game over 60,000 to football. They have money and it makes them tough. What could we do with that level of support ?Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑February 24th, 2020, 4:29 pmIt isnt envy to cheer against your rival. It is fun. This is entertainment after all.
