Re: Porter
He was in foul trouble and then we were in a rhythm with him on the bench and there was a point of putting him back in just to put him back in. Same type of thing that happened with Bean in the Nevada game.

Re: Porter
I think Brito played better with Merrill, Miller, Bean, and Queta than he does coming off the bench.

Re: Porter
It looked like he hit his head pretty hard on the charging foul.

Re: Porter
He's played this whole season like somebody hit his head pretty hard. Looks totally disinterested to me.

Re: Porter
Totally agree. Brito looks better in the facilitator role than he does as a non-facilitating wing. He also looked better last night in that role than Porter has all season. Let's give that a shot . . . .hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2020, 12:12 amI think Brito played better with Merrill, Miller, Bean, and Queta than he does coming off the bench.

Re: Porter
I don't agree. I'm not a champion for Porter, but he's been very passionate in his play. Obviously the results aren't there, but he's been upset at mistakes, foul calls, and seems engaged. Of the problems to call him out on, I don't think that's on there.AggiesForever wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2020, 8:49 amHe's played this whole season like somebody hit his head pretty hard. Re: Porter
I saw Coach Smith approach Abel (who was sitting on the bench) at one point early in the 2nd half and ask him something. Not sure what he said, but Abel shook his head and then Coach walked away and Abel stayed on the bench. I didn't hear what the exchange was, but what it LOOKED like was coach asking Abel if he could go, and Abel telling him no. This was me observing from behind the bench, but 18 rows up, so take it with a HUGE grain of salt. I think Abel is hurt worse than he's letting on, and it has really cramped his playing style and effectiveness?

Re: Porter
I think if it's that bad we should sit him for a week or two and see if he can heal it up. He just can't be effective at 60%. Brito was a more effective version of himself in his stead, and we can give more time to Bairstow and Anderson to develop them in time for the tournament. Which is all that matters now.

Re: Porter
He also seems to get called for charging more than any PG in Aggie history. Not sure what it is exactly, but it seems to reveal some flaw in his ball handling/driving ability, i.e., he seems to just lower his head and drive at times rather than keep his head on a swivel seeking to avoid contact and dishing the ball.
