Correct. But as I pointed out in another thread I’m not sure why LSU is so high. They are higher than all 3 teams they have lost to.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑December 19th, 2019, 11:01 amI think our drop was more due to LSU losing to East Tennessee state.

Amazing website. Wow.ProvoAggie wrote:This is something that treesap and I are working on. It's not done yet but you can see our schedule breakdown with NET Quadrants and records here:
https://www.bracketologists.com/team/utah-state-aggies
Outside of the team pages not a lot is complete yet.
If you are taking suggestions, on the team pages I notice that the chart which tracks NET rating over time scales from 1-400. It can be difficult to see changes. Would there be any way to dynamically make the scale fit the values better? So, for the Aggies our NET has gone from 47 to 47 to 51 to 55. Perhaps fit the scale from 45 to 60. If our rating moves outside of that, the scale would adjust accordingly, such as if we move up to 43 the scale would be 40 to 60.
Might not be as good for comparing teams since the scale would be different for each, but I don't suppose that is the main use of the trend line anyway.
Anyway, just a thought.

I made some small tweaks to the graph. It's something that sap and I argued about. Being that I was the programmer I initially won but if other's want that then I'll give in a little.Zaggie07 wrote: ↑December 19th, 2019, 4:33 pmAmazing website. Re: NET Rating Tracker
Maybe because the two teams essentially played to a tie game and the USU and USF ended up getting repositioned a little closer to each other.

Re: NET Rating Tracker
Margin of victory does weigh into the formula, but I suspect the weight is very little. But you are correct, for overtime games, the winning team is granted a 1 point win, regardless of the margin of victory at the end of any overtimes.

Re: NET Rating Tracker
Margin of victory is capped at 10, but net efficiency is effectively a margin of victory and that is uncapped.

Re: NET Rating Tracker
ProvoAggie and treesap32, have you guys posted this places like Reddit's /r/CollegeBasketball? I suspect you could get a lot of national interest because of how clean and easy to follow the website design is.
Is your server set up to take a huge load if it did get some national attention? Or, have you already been getting national recognition and we just don't know about it.

Re: NET Rating Tracker
Someone from this thread posted it on Reddit yesterday and it did get a good amount of love. Right now it's on a shared server, but if it takes off we might look at upgrading it. We'll see.jpswensen wrote: ↑December 20th, 2019, 1:58 pmProvoAggie and treesap32, have you guys posted this places like Reddit's /r/CollegeBasketball? Re: NET Rating Tracker
Upset alert
#221 UAB beat #23 Duquesne
I suspected this might happen this Duquense has played weak opponents, and UAB is not a bad team.
#131 South Carolina beat #31 Virginia.
#115 New Mexico State got a road win against #90 Miss. State. MWC wins on this one since New Mexico State played New Mexico and Colorado State, and we might be in the top 50 from this.
#25 Richmond lost to #148 Radford 73-58.

Re: NET Rating Tracker
Margin of victory may be capped at 10 points, but those 10 points seem to weigh pretty heavily in the formula. Anytime I see a team move up or down significantly it's usually the result of a 10+ point win.

Re: NET Rating Tracker
Does anyone know of a NET predictor that would say what our NET would be IF we had beaten St Mary’s and BYU? Where would we be at if we were undefeated?

Re: NET Rating Tracker
Our net ranking and, ultimately, seeding rests largely on how Florida and LSU do in SEC play.
Re: NET Rating Tracker
That would be a cool feature. I really liked the rpi forecast - that would be a cool add on in the future. Predicts games you will win and percentages and what rpi (net in this case) you would likely have with number of wins and probabilities.scotlandog wrote:Does anyone know of a NET predictor that would say what our NET would be IF we had beaten St Mary’s and BYU? Re: NET Rating Tracker
Freakboy is hoping to build this exact feature in a new website, but it's pretty hard when the NCAA won't release their formula for NET. Instead of having transparency, they have made it a secretive proprietary formula which is hard to predict. They've also reserved the right to tweak it along the way to their liking, even during the season.sneed wrote: ↑December 25th, 2019, 7:49 pmThat would be a cool feature. Re: NET Rating Tracker
Understood. I was curious to see how big a negative impact those games have against us since both are playing pretty well. Is it a real negative effect against us or it it more a loss of a positive effect for us. Both are very close to us in the NET rankings.treesap32 wrote:Freakboy is hoping to build this exact feature in a new website, but it's pretty hard when the NCAA won't release their formula for NET. It's pretty much a loss of being a positive. Losing Q1 and Q2 games don't really hurt you but winning them gives you a boost.scotlandog wrote:Understood. Are you sure about that SDSU? Your moniker notwithstanding, the number of times you talk about BYU in your posts makes me question your claim that you are really a San Diego state fan. Seems to me you are a closet BYU fan trying to troll under a false identity as an Aztec.
