Kuba return date?
This board has been pretty quiet on Kuba. Is there any information on his recovery?

Re: Kuba return date?
I wonder why so long for an appendicitis? I had my appendix out at 1:30am and went home at 8:00am. Running and playing basketball within a week. The surgery does not generally have major side effects and recovery generally short.

I swear that USU had either a basketball or football player a few years back that had his appendix out and was back playing within 10 days. If it wasn't for the oldtimers disease that I have, I could tell you who it was.

Re: Kuba return date?
Not all cases are the same..if there is rupture or spillage of intestinal contents the ensuing peritonitis can complicate what would have been a simple recovery and may necessitate multiple drains, larger incision, antibiotics, etc.

Re: Kuba return date?
Kuba's a man amongst men. He likely had his appendix rupture several weeks back and has been pushing through the pain as only he could. Eventually succumbing to recommendations of less masculine individuals, he got it checked out by a medical professional. They're recommending more down time, though Kuba is back to his daily regimen of nails and the souls of weaker men for breakfast.

That happened to my son last year, 5 years old with a rupture. he spent 6 days in the hospital and was riding his bike 8 days out. Everyone heals differently.

If he's not back by St. Katherine's I doubt he ever comes back.

Re: Kuba return date?
Agreed. If he isn't back for this most important game, he won't be back this season. IF EVER. I don't want to be fatalistic, but he will never play basketball again if he doesn't make it to St. Katherine's.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑December 6th, 2019, 12:54 pmIf he's not back by St. Katherine's I doubt he ever comes back.

Re: Kuba return date?
My 14 yr old son got his appendix out this fall. Just 1 week before football season started. Even though he came home the next day, we were advised to not let him play "contact sports" for 8 weeks. He ended up missing the entire season.

Re: Kuba return date?
Kuba is still on the waiting list for an appendix donor to come forward. We need to be patient. He will be back when he gets the appendix transplant and doctors give the "all clear" to play.

Well, even if the kid's a prodigy, 14 is way too young to play football for USU.

Let's not be rash, here. What position does he play? Couple spots we could probably use an upgrade.brownjeans wrote: ↑December 6th, 2019, 5:23 pmWell, even if the kid's a prodigy, 14 is way too young to play football for USU.

Re: Kuba return date?
He's 6ft and 120 lbs. When he turns side-ways he is almost invisible. He plays D-end because if he runs in the open field, he runs like Barry from the Goldbergs.Aggie19 wrote:Let's not be rash, here. Alright, maybe we let him simmer a little longer. And feed him some cheeseburgers, would yaAgsman wrote: ↑December 6th, 2019, 8:05 pmHe's 6ft and 120 lbs.
