Texas fires Orlando
Was a great DC here.
Texas is becoming a coach killer for otherwise good DCs
Will be interested to see where he winds up

Orlando out at Texas
Unrealistic expectations there. Hope he finds a good spot to land.

Man. It’s too bad there’s no way really for him to end up at usu. Gary doesn’t know him and there’s no way he’s getting rid of Ena.

I'd rather bring in coach Chad from USC if the staff is let go there.

This is 100% true. He told anyone and everyone in the coaching profession that he wanted out. Looking for a place to land.

I don't give a damn!! Bring him back. The NCAA allows ten assistants on staff and we only have 9. Orlando or Chad get one of the here pronto!

I get the frugal culture everyone is afraid of the next financial crisis in logan. However, if you want to keep the good coaches you need to get better paying jobs and investments and roll that good fortune into fb assistants and keeping coach smith

He's right, there's a Culver's now and a new Arby's out in Smithfield.

Of all the places expectations should be sky-high given location and resources, The University of Texas is one of them.ultramagnus wrote: ↑December 1st, 2019, 3:13 pmUnrealistic expectations there. Hope he finds a good spot to land.

Would he bring four future NFL players with him? Otherwise it will not be the same as it was last time he was here.

Those guys didn't develop themselves. I'd let him bring 4* DE Van Fillinger from Corner Canyon with him though.Aggieiester wrote: ↑December 1st, 2019, 6:46 pmWould he bring four future NFL players with him? Otherwise it will not be the same as it was last time he was here.

Re: Texas fires Orlando
This is a pipe dream. He came here after he was fired at UConn, and no one else wanted him he had zero other offers.
He was very vocal about the fact he wanted to be on the East Coast. I'm sure he's going to try and get on at Rutgers or South Florida or someplace like that.
I'm not saying I wouldn't take him and considering his time in Texas at Houston and the University of Texas is recruiting ties there are much stronger. I would take him back however I don't think it's going to happen.
Not to mention we don't have a job for him currently because Gary isn't going to let anyone go and at this point he has been pretty vocal about not filling the 10th assistant position.

Re: Texas fires Orlando
What is the reason for not filing the 10th position? More money for the other 9?

Part of that isn’t true. We hired him from Florida International not UConn. I believe he was under contract at FIU when we hired him.MWCFAN12 wrote: ↑December 1st, 2019, 7:44 pmThis is a pipe dream. He came here after he was fired at UConn, and no one else wanted him he had zero other offers.

Re: Texas fires Orlando
I agree, very likely a pipe dream but this season has been a defensive disaster and of course a firing like this is going to set off fireworks in Aggie land. But not for one second do I believe that if Chad Kauaha'aha'a became available Coach Andersen wouldn't find the money to bring him in.MWCFAN12 wrote: ↑December 1st, 2019, 7:44 pmThis is a pipe dream. Re: Texas fires Orlando
I believe the NCAA allows 10 assistants to go out on the road and recruit. With only 9 assistants on staff, I believe Keegan is allowed to fill that void.
