Injury Report
Jordan Love-Possible Concussion
By the way, I thought his performance was damn good. First pick was just a great defensive play. Second pick was a terrible read and throw. After that, he was great against a good D. The TD to Thompkins that was called back was a perfect throw. He was throwing darts and making the WYO D look silly.

Re: Injury Report
I have confidence in Colombi. However, as I've mentioned several times after the Air Force game, I don't have confidence in Sanford's play calling especially with Colombi in the game.

I’m afraid if Columbi starts we will conservative to the extreme and not utilize any element of the play book that has any risk.Donman wrote:I think Columbi gives us more of a run element. Excited for him to get his chance.

Re: Injury Report
I think we are underestimating how good Jordan Love is. Love is a fantastic QB. As he made some bad decisions this year? Yes. That said he is playing with a new offense and a new coaching staff. The dude is incredible. He is also not a bad runner. Is Columbi a slightly better athlete? Yes, but not by a lot. Nothing against Columbi, but he is not Love. Love is a first round draft pick, who has good pocket presence, a cannon arm, soft touch, and is a good athlete.

Re: Injury Report
Well if Love isn't available, we have to make the best of it. Look at positives. Love to have Love but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
I have faith in Columbi, I'm confident it will pan out.

Re: Injury Report
The only good change with Colombi is that he should have a full green light to actually run the read part of the inside zone. By limiting our run game to the inside zone and then further limiting love keeping on the keep reads, our doofus OC has severely hamstring his offense. Hopefully Colombi is given the freedom to run the whole RPO every play.
That said we are gonna miss Jordan

Re: Injury Report
Who is behind Columbi? I would think they might be careful doing a lot of the RPO given that Peasley is out. If Columbi gets dinged up we are down to a 4th string QB.
Would really love to see Warren back at full strength even if it means we need him to miss a week. Obviously this is not the week for him to miss.

Re: Injury Report
You make a valid point, and is the way I tend to believe. I do think that a week of Columbi taking the 1st string snaps will help. I just hope the concussion is precautionary, and Love will be ok to go.dyedblue wrote: ↑November 17th, 2019, 11:43 amI’m afraid if Columbi starts we will conservative to the extreme and not utilize any element of the play book that has any risk.Donman wrote:I think Columbi gives us more of a run element. Re: Injury Report
I believe so, I don’t think he’s played this year so worst case scenario he could play the remaining games and still reserve his redshirt. Josh Calvin is on the roster as well.ThunderAggie wrote: ↑November 17th, 2019, 3:30 pmWho is our 4th string qb? Is is Cooper Legas and is he redshirting?

Re: Injury Report
What exactly would we be saving Colombi for? Boise is the second to last and most important game of the season so far, and Love would be back for the bowl game even if it’s a concussion, If Colombi goes down, I think we’ll be okay with Legas or Calvin against UNM.gomretat wrote: ↑November 17th, 2019, 2:15 pmWho is behind Columbi? I want to see us go all out to beat Boise. Being conservative makes no sense at this late point in the season.

Re: Injury Report
Josh Calvin is our 4th team QB. Cooper Legas is the 3rd team QB. Both QBs could play this Saturday, at New Mexico and in our bowl game and still maintain their redshirt status.ThunderAggie wrote: ↑November 17th, 2019, 3:30 pmWho is our 4th string qb? Is is Cooper Legas and is he redshirting?

Re: Injury Report
New offense as in mostly new players? Yes. New offense as in scheme? No. But new coaches make a difference. They should have changed the scheme last spring IMO.bpd wrote: ↑November 17th, 2019, 11:59 amI think we are underestimating how good Jordan Love is. Love is a fantastic QB. But I agree with you that Jordan love is great. After a rough patch in the middle of the season, Jordan seems to be playing well again and his receivers are playing better too and that has helped. Jordan is throwing more quickly again. The trust is coming back.

Fair play book comment dyedblue... My view is the entire play book is currently a risk.dyedblue wrote: ↑November 17th, 2019, 11:43 amI’m afraid if Columbi starts we will conservative to the extreme and not utilize any element of the play book that has any risk.Donman wrote:I think Columbi gives us more of a run element. Re: Injury Report
There is absolutely zero reason to play conservative with Colombi. Besides the game, we literally have nothing to lose. We're bowl eligible, not going to win division. Let the kid run the full offense.

Great opportunity to see what the future holds for columbi if love decides to leave. I am just glad we are bowl eligible. Go balls out and see where it takes us. Excited to see him start the game especially with a full week of practice as first string.

Who was playing qb the last time we beat Boise? We still have a shot at winning the division, and the conference championship. However, we will need Air Force to lose 1 more game.

Re: Injury Report
I watched the collision several times where he supposedly got the concussion. It really looked like the impact was mostly side and shoulder. There was some contact with the helmet, but just glancing. If that's all it takes to get a concussion then the running backs get one on almost every play.JFWAggie wrote: ↑November 18th, 2019, 7:45 amHe seemed to be ok after the game on the field and in locker room celebration, let’s hope he’s ok and available for Saturday!YoungBloodAggie wrote: ↑November 18th, 2019, 7:31 amARE YOU IMPLYING SOMEONE ON THIS BOARD PASSED THIRD-HAND INFORMATION OFF AS GOSPEL?!

How about the series before the goal line dive when he got walloped by the Wyoming sideline?

Just watched the Munoz scholarship video. Looks like he will be out this week with a concussion, but it was probably worth it.

Re: Injury Report
Well in addition to that (AFA losing) we need to win two more games as well for the Division.
