Queta timeline (according to the board)
So Roy McAvoy has been saying for awhile now that we may not see Queta for as long as the first couple months, and has continually assured us he won't be starting the season.
TrueAggie has recently posted that he's seen Queta practicing and seems to think he's going to be ready to go at or close to season start.
It's very interesting that we're still not getting full details about things.
Anyone else want to pitch in takes or have further info?
And, if McAvoy is right, how do we compensate and fare?

Patrick Mahomes basically has the same injury and they are saying 3-5 weeks. I know, different person, different sport. If we don't see him against Montana St., I bet we see him shortly after that.

Re: Queta timeline (according to the board)
Mahomes has no ligament damage and therefore was best case. I'm guessing Queta has assume damage besides the dislocation.

I think we're all about to discover that Kuba is pretty good too.

I remember reading at the time no ligaments were damaged.

If we're a head coach, I'd never say a thing about injuries unless it was required.

Re: Queta timeline (according to the board)
This is my thought. There's no reason for them to talk about it at all besides to assuage fan fears, and that's a low priority IMO.brownjeans wrote:If we're a head coach, I'd never say a thing about injuries unless it was required.
But if Kuba can come in and be at LEAST serviceable (as 22 has eluded to) we've got a chance to bandaid over Quetas potential absence, and not in a "we desperately need him to win" way.

Re: Queta timeline (according to the board)
We have a lot of solid teams we are playing in out of conference that we need queta for. Florida, LSU st Mary’s. Even south Florida is being touted as a good team this year. We have a good chance at winning any of those but without queta it really limits our chances.

Re: Queta timeline (according to the board)
I selfishly want him back no later than LSU, but I really want him back whenever it’s best for him to be back. Don’t want to risk an NBA future for him by rushing him back.

From what I've been told Stall is finally healthy and should see some time this season.donlarson8 wrote: ↑October 19th, 2019, 9:01 amI think everyone is ahead of Stall on the depth chart

I think people will find Kuba's quality to be shocking.

Re: Queta timeline (according to the board)
22, I’ve heard from a couple people within the program that Kuba suffered a high ankle sprain and will be sidelined for a bit. Can you confirm?

Re: Queta timeline (according to the board)
I can try? I'm finding it VERY difficult to get much info regarding injuries from not only the football team but the hoops team as well. Really the only way I get any injury info is if I get it directly from the player or a parent.Aggiesbleedblue wrote: ↑October 19th, 2019, 10:59 am22, I’ve heard from a couple people within the program that Kuba suffered a high ankle sprain and will be sidelined for a bit. In an interview probably about a month ago coach Smith mentioned that Kuba did experience a ankle sprain in one of the practices but this was like 5-6 weeks ago

Re: Queta timeline (according to the board)
The first game it really matters if Queta returns is LSU. The only reason to return him earlier is so he is back in the flow of the game before than. I would say sit him before UTSA if he is even at just 95 percent.
