Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
I disagree with the 8:30 start time. My young son who is a huge Queta fan would have really liked to go to this but late start on a school night isn't going to work.

Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
It used to be midnight madness. Having it at 8:30 is already 3.5 hours early.

Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
I just don't like that it's on a Thursday night. It would be nice to make it more accessible to out of town fans. They should have done it on October 19th right after the Nevada Football game.

Come on, if you live in Logan let him go! Fun one-off nights like these are nights kids remember and really love.aggiesdotcom wrote: ↑October 7th, 2019, 8:15 amI disagree with the 8:30 start time. Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
I remember as a kid my dad letting me stay home to watch the usu March madness game (I believe Ohio state). Probably remember that much more than what I would have learned in school that day.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑October 7th, 2019, 9:36 amCome on, if you live in Logan let him go! I believe the Cache County schools don't have school on Friday so if your kid goes to any of those schools, you are in luck!

Damn...Thursday evenings are the day I spend time getting my fill over on the Cougar board. Wish the Utah State AD would get their (I can't express myself without swearing) together and make these events perfect for my schedule.

If any one on the board was able to go to this and share their thoughts that would be great. I wish I could have made it up for this.

Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
Marco Anthony and Alphonso Andersen will be immediate impact players. Bairstow could be also. I could see Porter and Miller coming off the bench this year. Very deep team. It’s possible you could see a bench of Miller, Porter , Brito and Bean

I thought Anthony had to sit out this year.

Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
He didn’t necessarily say that Anthony would be an impact player this year lol spending a year on the scout team will do a lot of good for everyone
Will respond whenever you ask what the band is doing

Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
The real question I have is did the women’s team just not get (or want) the new uniforms?

Aggie Madness -- October 10
I also felt that Justin bean had improved a lot in the off-season although anything during that scrimmage was hard to tell because it was basically an NBA All-Star game with as many lobs as possible

Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
Anyone know why Grootfaam is listed as a senior on the roster on utahstateaggies.com? Shouldn’t he be a redshirt junior? In their bio it even says he redshirted last year, his first year at USU.

Queta suited up and was wearing a brace. But he did not participate in the scrimmage.

Did Queta noticeably favor his knee when he was warming up etc. I realize he didn't participate in the scrimmage.

Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
Because of some kind of transcript issue, Grootfaam lost a year of eligibility and also lost his appeal. It's the same kind of issue we had a few years ago with Alexis Dargenton.
The coaching staff assumed this was coming and has been recruiting accordingly for a couple of months now. I was asked to hold off on saying anything until the appeal process was completed.

Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
I don't think he favored the knee, and I watched fairly intently while he was on the floor. I was quite impressed with the athleticism of the team as a whole. Kuba moves quite well for his size. While tough to tell based on the type of play, I'm not sure he'll bang for rebounds. McChesney looks raw and very promising, Bairstow and Anderson look like they'll both contribute right away. Bean looked quicker than last season. I'm wildly excited to see this team. I'd hoped to see something from Roche, not sure what he'd be like in a regular game as opposed to last night's dunk fest. I was very impressed with Anthony's shooting in warmups.

A little bit of Bairstow vs Kuba. Which one was the stiff somebody mentioned? I forget.

Re: Aggie Madness -- October 10
#2, Bairstow, is 6'8 and will likely see time at the 1 spot. And the 2 spot. And the 3 spot. Kuba, the 7'2 kid, may be your starter at center to begin the season, depending upon Queta's rehab and cardio.
