74 yards and a touchdown? 4.4 YPC

That was his line from last night. I love Warren, but that is a far cry from getting himself drafted. Let's see how he does for a few more games b

I love the kid. Runs hard and refuses to go down. I don’t think he has the top end speed to make it in nfl.

San Diego State had to have the whole defense to bring Warren down.

Thompson was truly good in 2018, but Warren is better.

He’s a really good college back and is difficult to bring down but those things were true about Thompson. Thompson was also a much better pass catcher and had much better top end speed. He was clearly better than warren though warren is very very good

Ban him.

Warren isn’t fastest enough to play in the NFL

When DT had a hole he was gone. I remember Warren getting big gains against Wake- an entire field would be in front of him, but he’d get chased down by the far corners pursuit angle because he just didn’t have the last gear.

Warren needs to be faster to get drafted. But he is an incredible player.

As of now, I predict he’s a mini camp invitee at best (and I won’t bet against him once the door is opened)

Warren is currently averaging over 100 rushing yards per game and over 7 yards per carry.
Thompson had had worst stats than that. Receiving yards for Thompson per game was only a little better.
Thompson had big stats against very weak teams.
Tenn Tech, New Mexico State, Hawaii, and San Jose State games' combine stat line were 40 carries 484 rushing yards 9 recs 187 receiving yards. Outside of those games, 113 carries 560 rushing yards 14 recs 164 receiving yards

Warren does not have a fast "40 yard speed", but Warren is extremely quick.

To add to that, I am pretty certain that Warren had 4 yards per carry after contact.

Uh, let’s not get carried away. He MAY end up being as good as or even better than Thompson but he has a LONG way to go before he proves that. I hope he does...

I don't think he is one and done but I do think he could end up being better than DT. I love how the kid runs and I think he has a good top end people are quick to discredit. Warren has been the most impressive transfer in a group of very productive transfers. All three Utah transfers have far exceeded my expectations. Hope we keep up the local transfer pipeline.

I know the feeling. The issue is that Warren is so good that I felt we should realistically expect Warren leaves after the season.

If he can get 70+ yards and a td against LSU I will jump on this wagon, until then, he is really good.

It’s a treat to watch Warren run the ball and I’m so glad we got him. That being said, part of what got Thompson so much draft buzz was his weight room performance. His “rocked up” body drew about as much attention as his on the field exploits. Even though I think Warren has been just as productive as DT was last year to this point, I don’t think he’s quite the physical specimen, which the NFL scouts loved.

yeah, no way Warren will go anywhere after this year. He may get some looks on a Pro Day for the next level after his Senior year but he's not in the same position that DT was for all the reasons already listed.

Wow. You are ignoring that the blocking and opponent has a tiny bit to do with it. SDSU was giving up 2 yards a carry going into this game and have fast edge to edge backers and safeties.

It was an NFL running performance. Of course a lot more than that goes into an NFL back but that comment blew me away.

I'm not bashing Warren at all. I was just saying we need to cool our keys about him being a one and done. I love Warren and what he brings. Had he gone for 250 last night and been able to take the two great runs against Wake to the house, I might be the leader of the NFL draft club.
