When will the full schedule be released?

Post by AggieVoice » August 16th, 2019, 4:48 pm

We've got the conference schedule, Beehive Classic, Florida, and the Jamaica Classic. I want to see the rest of it! Can't wait for Aggie Basketball!

Same here, I have heard no updates.
All I know is from what has been said here at the moment.

We have our conference schedule with Nevada (single home game) and New Mexico (single road game).
Non-conference schedule has LSU, North Texas, Weber State, BYU, St. Mary's, and Florida. I believe two lower tier opponents from the Jamaica Classic are on our non-schedule, but the teams are TBD. I heard people here talked about a game against some team in Arizona, and someone here said our home opener is against Montana State.

Montana State is now official as well. They released it earlier this week on Twitter

Per some posters on a different post, we also have a neutral site game in Houston vs a Big 12 opponent, unless that fell through.

You can always check out the schedule page here on the site, all known games and opponents are usually entered almost immediately.

A full schedule release from the school likely won't come until the end of the month.

I'm being told that the hang-up is that no one wants to play us because we are good again.

I think a lot of MWC schools have spent the summer getting better, while maybe coaches at USU haven’t even used a phone recently.

That is a good schedule so far. I am unconvinced the MW will be much help to you so if you can knock off a couple of those schools at the top of the list you should get a decent seed..

I expect Florida to really jump the list by the time we play them. They are ranked #4 in ESPN rankings so probably a lot better than there 30 NET ranking.

Based on Smith's interview, sounds like filling out the schedule "sucks". Which I take to mean we may see some crappy fill ins since no one of quality wants to come here.

If you look at the schedule page I'm 99% sure that we know everything now.

I'm seeing 27 regular season games. Doesn't one of the mini-tournament things make us eligible for more? I thought that we could play in up to 31 with the right arrangement. It is entirely possible that I am remembering wrong and/or misinterpreting.

Actually I guess we don't know of the 2 on campus games for the tournament yet. I don't know if USU is working on anymore games or not. We'd heard that they were working on 2 more games including one in Houston. Since then the Denver and USF games have been announced.

Would be kinda fun to play the giant-slaying UMBC Retrievers. Hoping for them and Eastern Michigan.

[Is it official that we will be playing 2 of those 4 teams from the lower bracket of the Jamaica Classic? Without those we would only have 9 non conference games. That seems like 2-3 games short of what we normally have, correct?]

We are still looking for one non-D-1 game and one D-1 game hopefully to be played at home. There are currently not a lot of takers.

The NCAA is going to have to start making some scheduling requirements. Anyone who has been privy to this year’s scheduling attempts can tell you what a joke this has been. Literally nobody wants to play us.

I don't know what the NCAA may or may not do but I think the MW will take a look at a 20 game conference schedule. Most of the members have trouble getting good match ups.
