Defensive scheme

Post by slcagg » August 30th, 2019, 10:03 pm

For those of you who are smarter than me. Do we have personnel that would perform better in a 3-4? Dline didn’t seem to be able to generate a great pass rush.

Im not sure they were supposed to rush. It looked like a scrum on the line of series and wait for the running back or quarterback to dictate the play. There were multiple plays where our d end would not even rush just kinda stand there with the offensive tackle and not put the extra effort in

Very very much assignment oriented scheme from what I could tell. Hard to defend, we couldn't just go all out we had to sorta see if the Back would take it, the qb would run it or a pass. It looked like the line was trying to hold up the O line and let the backers and safety's make plays. Tough to defend.

We figured out the run by the end but Obviously our secondary is a huge concern.

I just know they better figure out how to cover tall receivers, quickly.

There were so many times I thought the play had been blown dead because everyone would come to a standstill with that janky RPO.
