Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
I talked to Oakley Hussey a month or so ago and he swore once he got here he would be a WR but I tried to tell him to be ready for a move to safety.

Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
Our lack of depth at Safety must be worrisome to the coaches. We've seen a handful of players moved to Safety.
Cameron Haney
Oakley Hussey
Sam Lockett (2018 scout team player of the year at WR)
Keith Harris
It makes you wonder what the heck went on with Chris Nash for him to have left.

Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
He tore his knee up in spring ball. I bet he'll show back up on the roster next spring. Unfortunately, there are only a certain number of spots for walk-ons and when someone gets hurt it has to be next man up. It's just a numbers thing.

What happened to Gajkowski? That's a real bummer. I was pumped about him after his freshman year.

Yes I have noticed the official site has continuously done updates today. No Mitch Medina as well (You had him on your LB depth chart) and no sign of the Nick Heinninger as mentioned in the Athletic article.

Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
Unfortunately, I'm not able to always get 100% confirmation on each and every player. But the team is allowed to take 105 players to fall camp and there are 105 players on the updated roster, so I would dare say that this is the roster we have.ROLLEOVERHORDEMAN wrote: ↑July 16th, 2019, 3:55 pmYes I have noticed the official site has continuously done updates today. Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
I appreciate all your hard work 22! What happens to guys like Nehemiah Shird, Nick Henninger, or Jared Reed if they are not part of the 105? They just go to school and if there is any turnover they get to be part of the 105 eventually?aggies22 wrote: ↑July 16th, 2019, 4:16 pmUnfortunately, I'm not able to always get 100% confirmation on each and every player. Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
Once school starts they can add 10 additional players and expand the roster to 115 players. You'll see several of the names that are no longer on the current roster reappear then.JFW_AGGIES wrote: ↑July 16th, 2019, 4:52 pmI would expect Nick to join the team at some point maybe closer to the time that school starts.ROLLEOVERHORDEMAN wrote: ↑July 16th, 2019, 3:55 pmYes I have noticed the official site has continuously done updates today. Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
When the roster expands to 115 after school starts, does an injured walk-on continue to be "part of the team", or are they just cut loose, with a pat on the back, and a "try again next year"?

Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
I don't think it's quite as harsh as that. I believe that an injured walk-on is covered by the team insurance and gets to rehab with team doctors in team facilities. I'm not 100% sure how the numbers work officially but a walk-on that is out for the year because of an injury will not be listed on the 115 man roster.LKGates wrote: ↑July 16th, 2019, 8:50 pmWhen the roster expands to 115 after school starts, does an injured walk-on continue to be "part of the team", or are they just cut loose, with a pat on the back, and a "try again next year"?

22 - correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't I believe USU football insurance is self funded and relies on the players own personal insurance first and then covers the remainder of the bill.aggies22 wrote:I don't think it's quite as harsh as that. Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
Hey 22, what do you know of Sean Carter? He is listed as a Junior who transferred from Riverside CC.
I ask because one of my concerns with our WRs is size. I am going to miss Tarver out there. Carter is listed at 6'4" he is our tallest WR and one of 3 non-freshman WRs over 6'. Any chance he gets into the rotation?

Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
Here's what concerns me about Sean Carter. First, he ended up at two different JuCo's, that's typically not a great sign in the first place. Second, he had very little production in JuCo. He only had 20 total receptions over his two years of playing time. In the past when we've brought in JuCo transfers with similar production, they haven't managed to step up their game. Recent Aggie JuCo WRs with similar stats include Devin Heckstall, Jaren Colston-Green, Dwayne Lorick and Jordan Jenkins. My final concern is that he didn't come in for spring ball. There are always exceptions to the rule but more often than not when a JuCo guy gets here in time for spring ball, he is much more successful his first year on campus.thegreendalegelf wrote: ↑July 17th, 2019, 7:41 amHey 22, what do you know of Sean Carter? I'm not saying Carter is a lost cause and we should all write him off. I'll admit I was dead wrong about Ron'quavion Tarver and I knew I was wrong a week into fall camp. All I'm saying is I'm tempering my expectations of what Carter is going to contribute this season until I can see him live in fall camp.

Re: Updated 2019 Fall Roster
Sheesh. There has seemingly been quite a bit more attrition then we were expecting.
Here's a list of players I'm referencing that we have lost since the end of last season that were expected to be a contributing part of this year's team:
Moroni Iniguez, OL (Graduated and left football)
Morian Walker, RB (? Was expected to contribute at RB this year)
Baron Gajkowski, LB (Injury. Was going to be a significant contributor at LB)
Preston Curtis, WR (? Was expected to contribute in the slot position this year)
SJ Uluave, OL (? Had a promising future on the OL)
Chris Nash, Safety (Transferred out)
Devin Heckstall, WR (? Transferring away)
Chad Artist, WR (Quit football)
