Not sure if actually have offered either grad transfer but it seems like that might be our number 1 priority. A high level grad transfer pg. which I think most on here would agree.

Yeah, not a fan of a 29% 3 pt shooter from a bottom level Big Sky team. I would hope we could do better, but maybe not. I like the guy from High Point a lot better.

No thanks to guys who couldn’t get playing time at low to average p5 schools. You’d think the Jenkins kid might go to UNLV. Although he will have options pretty much anywhere in the country.

Would absolutely take Jenkins with that stat line even though he has to sit out.

Re: We have an open spot.
Wait, I'm confused. I thought we didn't need a PG. People on here and Twitter keep quieting those clamoring for another PG saying we already have one and he's really good. Why would we be aggressively recruiting grad transfer PG's?
These grad transfers basically only come if either 1) A starting spot is all but guaranteed or 2) They have a chance to compete for a national championship.

I learned three things here over the course of this year: 1. We won't/didn't miss Koby at all. He was a ball hog and selfish and in no way would've helped the team. 2. We don't need another PG. 3. Summit League recruits won't cut itRoy McAvoy wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2019, 8:25 amWait, I'm confused. I thought we didn't need a PG. If you are happy with getting your (I can't express myself without swearing) kicked in the NCAA tournament next year, yes I guess your are right. However, I am not. We need another scorer to take pressure of Sam and maybe play a little two to give Sam a break. My first call would be to Max Hazzard a grad transfer from Irvine.

NCAA tornament team that is top 25 is hard to refuse. Next season is the best time to make a big run at going for the NC.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2019, 8:25 amWait, I'm confused. UC Irvine transfer Max Hazzard (@maxhazzard2) tells me he’s heard from Arizona, Utah, Oregon State, Boise State, Northwestern, St. John’s
TCU, Montana, Gonzaga and Pitt. He averaged 12.5 points and 2.1 assists per game last season. Brother walked on af Arizona.

All he has to do is show up with an attorney and the NCAA will cave like a straw house in a wind storm and they will grant Zion immediate eligibility.Cuchelain wrote: ↑April 5th, 2019, 2:59 pmYeah, but he’ll have to sit out a year.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑April 5th, 2019, 11:04 amInteresting... Re: We have an open spot.
Here is what we know and don't know.
1. We are in a recruiting dead period till Tuesday I think
2. We need a PG
3. We need more athletes
4. We have been loosely tied to two Grad transfers, but not connected to others that I thought we would be
5. There has been no mention of junior college players connected to USU, which I find strange
6. We have been connected to a HS PG, but apparently he has not qualified yet
7. As of now, we have one open scholarship
8. I would kill for a good beat reported who would report on recruiting like Geoff Grammar or Chris Murray
I'm surprised we have not heard more about recruiting

He would be a great pick up. Saw him play here in Twin this year. Great ball handler, fearless, good shooter, and enjoys playing ball.
Re: We have an open spot.
Here is an interview with Craig Smith a week ago. The interview starts a little over half way through. The first part is about recruiting. It sounds like we have one scholarship.

Re: We have an open spot.
There isn't more to hear because there isn't more to tell. What I have recently learned is that the current coaching staff does NOT typically hand out offers. What the current coaching staff WILL do is invite a recruit on an official visit and if they feel like he is going to be a good fit, they will offer the recruit right there on his visit and try to get him to commit on the spot. This tactic has worked with every recruit that has come on his visit, although we all know Ray'Quan Evans did eventually back away.bpd wrote: ↑April 5th, 2019, 8:38 pmHere is what we know and don't know.

A release only means his new school can pay his tuition. Otherwise he pays his own way.aggiesdotcom wrote:If he transfers from another Conference and Duke grant's his release, can't he play right away if he enrolls in summer school?Cuchelain wrote: ↑April 5th, 2019, 2:59 pmYeah, but he’ll have to sit out a year.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑April 5th, 2019, 11:04 amInteresting... Re: We have an open spot.
My guess is we will know more this coming week. It’s a dead period right now and coach is at the Final Four.
This coming weekend is the only remaining weekend for visits before the late signing period starts, so maybe a visitor then?

I think Zion would be eligible right away because he would be transferring back to Zion.
