Aggies in the NFL

Post by Coloraggie » May 7th, 2015, 11:44 am

Updated 8-9-2019. I updated all leagues, not just NFL - apologies if I missed anyone as some leagues make it hard to search rosters.

NFL Aggies 2017

Including links to SB Nation team pages that you can search for latest news on your favorite Aggie!

Kerwynn Williams (Saints) -not much written about Kerwynn and not many stats from preseason. Hard to say but I think that bodes towards him being cut.
Jalen Greene (LA Rams) – had TD catch in Week 3 and some good moments but I think he is more destined for practice squad.
JoJo Natson (LA Rams) – Most likely will make cut.
Dallin Leavitt (Raiders) – He puts up stats every game he is in but most likely off the cut. Though with Gruden you never know.
Nevin Lawson (Raiders) – will start on suspended list and be back with team after 4 games.
Nick Vigil (Bengals) –will make team as #1 linebacker.
Hunter Sharp (Bengals) – can't find much, didn't put up big stats in preseason, injured part of the time. Hard to see him making the roster.
Donald Penn (Redskins) – will be opening day starter on O-Line.
Bobby Wagner (Seahawks) – as if there was a question. #1 linebacker.
Dax Raymond (Bears) – likely a practice squad guy. Got concussion in last preseason game.
Patrick Scales (Bears) – should be a lock at long snapper.
Devante Mays (Jaguars) – preseason stats are sparse behind Jags line but at least one blogger thinks he has a chance to RB4 in Jacksonville. I doubt it.
Kyler Fackrell (Packers) – certain to make team
Tyler Larsen (Panthers) – currently on the good side of the bubble but this isn't certain.
Mo Alexander (Bills) – predicted as last player in. Better than last player.
Jalen Davis (Dolphins) – phinsiders predicts he lands on practice squad.
Darwin Thompson (Chiefs) – certain to make team. May start by mid-year.

Marwin Evans - waived by Seahawks 8/9.

That's an impressive list. Have we ever had this many players in The League at one time? I am guessing the answer is no.

So, I didn't follow the NFL draft at all. Did we not have anyone drafted this year then?

Bojay was cut by the raiders last week. Also, I didn't know that it was already 5/8/15? Can you see into the future?

Is DJ Tialavea (sp?) with anyone? It looks like he's no longer with the bills

You better tell Hans Olsen on 1280 he says we only have 12 not the 18 listed above.

I believe is is talking active rosters, after the cuts. I think BYU only has nine.

I guess I'm a day ahead but probably won't change in that timespan. These are players that are actually listed on NFL rosters, with the notes that I've caveated. DJ Tialavea is not on a roster. Bojay could very well sign a free agent deal soon. Al Lapuaho, who was in Steelers camp last year is now in the Indoor Football League on the same team with Nick Diaz, here in Colorado. I might have to go see a game!

Anything arena league related doesn't seem to be worth celebrating. Those guys are barely making ends meet and should probably move on. Cue "yeah but Kurt Warner."

If you can do what you love why not do it as long as you can? It know it doesn't make sense financially but I definitely get it.

They can do whatever they want, just don't think it needs to be pinned at the top of the message board in a celebratory fashion. See thread title for further explanation.

Does Adam Kennedy warrant a mention on the list? He is currently with the New Orleans Voodoo in the Arena League.

I titled it Aggies in the NFL and then added the others as a point of interest for those playing professionally. I'll keep up with the NFL guys but don't plan on scouring the rosters and transactions for the other leagues to see who was added/dropped.

I'll add Connor Williams

Kennedy is not listed on the Voodoo roster so I won't add him.

Jake Doughty signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL. I'm surprised he didn't get another look in the NFL.

Not happy that the Riders keep signing Aggies. The Riders are a rival of my Edmonton eskimos and I really don't want the Riders to succeed, but I want the Aggies to succeed.

Perfect! I really believe Vigil not only makes the team but gets a fair shot at some minutes, especially in the pre-season.

One of the strongest players in this year's rookie class, the 6'5", 295-pounder managed 39 bench press reps at his pro day. According to SteelersWire, that's a higher total than any registered at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine. Lucas Campbell of Steelers Depot views him as an old-school mauler who can move people off the line of scrimmage.

Good article on Whimpey! How did he not get an invite to the combine?

Both Suite and Vigil have been getting some snaps with the second team. Vigil is the top rookie lb for the dolphins right now (on the depth chart).

Vigil will be starting during this oncoming season.... mark my words. If I had to predict who sticks this upcoming season I would now say that Vigil and Whimpey make the roster and Suite will make the practice squad.

JMO but I don't think he'll make it. I really really hope that I'm wrong.

Doughty was released by the roughriders. I don't understand why though as he was second and first in defence in their two preseason games.

Well jake doughty is back with the Saskatchewan roughriders, he led the team with 7 tackles and 1 interception. And it was a beautiful INT.http://www.cfl.ca/video/index/id/112281

Zach Vigil is moving up the depth chart, taking snaps at 2nd team MLB http://proplayerinsiders.com/nfl-player ... ning-camp/

Also says "It's official. He's the rookie linebacker to beat."

AJ Pataiali'i just tweeted that he signed with the Patiots. Don't know any of the details but at least he's getting a chance to stay in the league.

Here is another link as well:

That one mentions that the Patriots have 7 other DTs but 2 of them are injured.
