I absolutely wanted Utah to win, but what does being an athletic director for 12 years have to do with the penalty? Should the ref see a penalty and then not call it because he realizes that Utah’s AD has 12 years of AD experience? His reaction to losing is very BYUish.

I was just coming here to talk about the same thing. I say screw both schools, I hate the pair of them. Buuuttttt………utah is really whining hard. I’ve been listening to their postgame show to get their reaction. Holy smokes guys. Whine, whine, whine. So what do you guys think? Do they have a complaint?

I looked it up out of curiosity.

Here is the call the Utah AD was upset about and said the Refs cheated when they called it.



Utah AD looks unprofessional and acting like a whiner. Official was right by the play, and could see a hold.

Did anyone think BYU wouldn't win that game in such a BYU type of way? It has happened our entire lifetimes. Last second wins in games they have no business winning. It happens with far too much regularity.

I have equal disdain for Utah but they did get absolutely screwed. The game was over. The call was BS and had no bearing on the play whatsoever. As soon as the flag was thrown I knew we would be watching a last second game winning FG for the Coogs. The same disgusting ending we have seen so many times before.

It was a bad call. Utah just needed to do something on offense in the 4th and they couldn't. The only real takeaway is that BYU is good but not great.

It was the right call. He was holding the receiver on the way down the field. Whether if affected the play is debatable, but if he hadn't have been held up, they might have been able to throw the ball to him. No one knows. If there is a penalty, call it, regardless of where is in the game.

If it had happened to USU, I would be ticked. If it had happened to a USU opponent, I would be happy. Looking at it from a neutral 3rd party, it was the right call.

Utah has no one but themselves to blame for that loss. All they had to do was pick up a couple of first downs, and they win. They let the game go on the sequences before, not the one holding penalty.

I would bet there may be some disciplinary action against Mark Harlan from the Big XII. I would be frustrated as well, but this wasn't a blown call. People can debate whether it should have been called, but he clearly put his hands all over the receiver, and held him up.

Mark Harlan and Kyle Whittingham really look foolish. It is one thing as the game is going on, but taking it to the press conference after several minutes have passed, it just bush league. Even the players like Micah Bernard had more maturity.

ESPN analytics showed Utah with a high 90's probability of winning that game on the last few plays before the penalty.

Here is a flashback to another time the Utes were mad about a call at the end of an in-state game. That ref was Shawn Hochuli, who has since been promoted to the NFL.

That AD used to work at South Florida. Maybe @FloridaAggie13 can tell us what the South Florida fans remember about him.

Be better than the team you’ve trying to beat and the officiating crew you think is against you. Ute tears are fun, it’s a shame BYU is the recipient.

Doesn't really matter what happened, you're unlikely to garner any sympathy by complaining about refs.

Especially if you didn't score in the second half.

He should be fired anyway. Utes athletic department stinks. They have been good at football and gymnastics and more recently women’s basketball. All other programs are not good.

Someone at the end of the game... Not Kyle I don't think a coordinator was in a refs face. Front and center on ESPN. B12 should do something if nothing else.

I say KW go right up to the ref after the game and he had some choice words for him.
