Rob Nielson has done a tremendous job this year. Very young roster took some lumps early but are playing very well. Currently in 4th in conference.

Re: Volleyball
They played a pretty tough non conference schedule, and I think that’s paying dividends for them now. They’ve won seven of eight(not counting the SJSU forfeit, except the conference does) and all their conference losses have been fifth set heartbreakers. I like their chances going in to the conference tourney.

Re: Volleyball
I went to their game last night and was super impressed. Nevada isn't great, but we looked bigger, faster and stronger in every single way. I know Rob said early in the season that this is one of the most talented groups that he's coached but that they're just young, and I think we're starting to see what it looks like when that comes together.

Re: Volleyball
Since it looks like USU will qualify for the MWC Volleyball Tournament and San Jose State will qualify for the tournament, what will happen if USU is in the bracket against SJSU? Will the women forfeit a game in the conference tournament and lose a chance to go to the NCAAT or will they play? I'm not trying to stir the pot but do the stakes of a tournament game change the nexus or overcome the risk and fairness that they cite when forfeiting the regular season match? i think to me it does, they have already made a statement but forfeiting the tournament would have to take another huge step in potential risk. Regardless i will support the team whether they compete or forfeit if they were to see SJSU at the tournament.

Re: Volleyball
I’ve been wondering about that myself, about what they will do if they have to play against SJSU.Coloraggie wrote: ↑October 31st, 2024, 4:08 pmSince it looks like USU will qualify for the MWC Volleyball Tournament and San Jose State will qualify for the tournament, what will happen if USU is in the bracket against SJSU? Re: Volleyball
At the very least, some players would likely sit out I'd think. It would either be that or a forfeit.Coloraggie wrote: ↑October 31st, 2024, 4:08 pmSince it looks like USU will qualify for the MWC Volleyball Tournament and San Jose State will qualify for the tournament, what will happen if USU is in the bracket against SJSU?
