MN Vikings - how bad was that "sack"

Post by AGinNEIowa » October 25th, 2024, 8:13 am

Refs really screwed the pooch to give the Rams 2 points there.

Anyone think Vikings really could have scored?

Maybe. I’m not gonna lie, I was happy to see the Vikings lose.

My Lions have been on the wrong end of a lot of bad officiating though so I feel for them.

It’s amazing how such obvious and non-subjective calls are missed in the NFL. Lends to the scripted tin foil hat perception that a lot of people have.

They said on the broadcast that it can't be reviewed. I just accepted that as well, ya penalties aren't reviewed.
Then this morning on the radio they said (Indianapolis station) - "that was a scoring play and had to be reviewed. It seems really dumb that they can't add that penalty in when it's so blatant"
Which makes me thing - why aren't Personal Fouls reviewable?
The 49er's got away with the throat punch last Sunday...
The Chiefs also got away with a couple hand slaps, at least one of which ended with the 49er's getting called for the retaliation
It seems like those plays should be reviewed and both players penalized.

But review is already a hassle, so I'm not sure how to clean up everything....or if it's even worth it.

Not gonna like, I have a mess full of Viking players on my fantasy team so I was none too happy about seeing the game end that way. With a personal foul there, it puts them Vikings out near the 20 yards line with a 1st down and there was like 1:40 left in the game - more than enough time to move down the field and get into position to take a few shots at the endzone. In real time, I thought the dude grabbed his jersey or pads but the replay showed it was a pretty blatant and egregious face mask. I have not seen very many penalties of that magnitude go missed at the NFL level but that one was bad.

Vikings are my team. Did I think they would score? No. But they probably had a 15% chance to, they have good WR talent, not like it was 20 secs on the clock.

Really dumb no call. Getting tired of the Vikings defense giving 10 yards a play

the 2nd Rams TD drive was like watching the Aggies - 3rd down, incomplete pass, OPE! PI or d-holding for a first down - repeated 2 or was it 3 times? :bangwall:

Also - not just 20% chance they score, but then less that they get the TD and the 2 points to tie and force OT...

Terrible missed call! Couldn't believe it even with two refs standing right there.
