16 seed makes no sense. Is that really how it’s done, or after the 8 seeds does it not really matter?
I'm not really sure. They didn't mark any seeds sub-8, so perhaps they don't split hairs to that extent.

Regardless, we beat them before, and we can beat them again.
The top 32 teams are seeded. The rest of the pairings are simply made based on geography.
That makes sense, and I understand the need for pragmatism, but if I were a BYU fan, I'd be a bit bummed that we drew Utah State and not Quinnipiac.

Let's go get it!

We got a HORRIBLE seed. Literally in the last 4. A remarkable season and horrible justice in seeding.

That’s not how it works. They only seed the top 8 teams in each region. Everybody else is just sent to places that make sense geographically.

We could have been the 33rd best team in the country and ended up in the same situation.

Manny is undefeated against BYU, and we’re MUCH better now than we were when we beat them. But man, that’s a really tough opponent.

We can do it again, though.

I could see it coming that we would be facing BYU in the NCAA Tournament, but I don't like it as much as I can see why they do it, cause of it making sense economically. And until the guidelines change, that is going to be what happens most often.

It has nothing to do with how tough they are, any NCAA Tournament team is going to be a tough opponent, I just would prefer a variety of who we played and playing someone we don't play in anything very often. It's an extension from the same principle of looking forward to the OOC basketball games against teams we haven't seen before and probably never will again, would look forward to our bracket buster pairing back in the day and be disappointed we got UCSB who we had seen alot and excited about draws with Wichita State and Northwestern State who we had never seen before, and liking it in football when we went away from our Idaho State/ Weber State/ Southern Utah rotation with games against Tennessee Tech, Stony Brook and North Dakota.

It's not an ideal draw for USU, but I take some solace in the fact that it is an absolutely horrible draw for BYU. They have to play the one team that beat them this season (they have three draws but USU is still their only loss). And tough defensive teams are especially annoying/dangerous in elimination games since there are no draws. We could very easily drag them into an unpredictable PK shootout. Regardless it means that BYU will have to bring their A game and won't be able to rest any starters, which will put them at a significant disadvantage in future rounds.

So while I would have preferred an easier opponent, I will take it. Worst-case scenario we make BYU's path to the title much more difficult. Best-case scenario we get national attention for beating a #1 seed that we know we are capable of beating.

From total goals scored, yBu had the top offense this season in women's soccer. However, in the postseason, I will generally pick defense over offense in any sport. Just generally comparing a couple of defensive stats,

- USU was 33rd in goals allowed per game while yBu was 112th.
- USU was 51st in save percentage while yBu was 184th.

Overall, USU has a legit chance to again knock off yBu. And this time the players and fans won't be able to complain about the grass they are playing on if yBu loses again.

Some on here descended into the abyss of the kitty board and there were apparently complaints about the grass and how it impacted yBu in their loss.

Got tickets, but had something come up. Luckily I gave my tickets to somebody who will be there and cheering loud for the good guys.

Looks like the game will be streamed on ESPN+. I'll be watching and cheering hard!

Our forwards were pretty bad tonight. They couldn’t even get a single shot off. It’s not like our shots were bad. Our shots just didn’t exist. Still a pretty awesome season for the Aggies. It just hurts because it’s the self-righteous school down south. Let’s tun it back next year though! Sounds like we have a pretty good freshman class coming in.

Not sure I’d say outclassed. Maybe outplayed, but YBU and class don’t belong together. That team complains, moans, and whines about everything. First reaction for them is always to put their hands in the air and act like they just got assaulted. I was proud of how the Aggie ladies kept their composure and were good sports.
