Re: Sam Houston State
Tough deal for those players. Losing a lot of close losses really messes with you mentally. Obviously I didn't play college football, but I was on some teams that lost a lot of close games and they sting all week and make you second guess everything.
I'm happy that 2011 team turned the season around and made a bowl. When they were 2-5 with 5 blown 4th quarters it was rough.

What’s crazy for them is they haven’t played a p5 team on that schedule.trevordude wrote: ↑October 18th, 2023, 8:48 pmHaving a brutal football season. 0-7. Losses to:

Staying in conference USA coach Jerry Kill is doing an awesome job at NMSU. It is amazing what he has been able to do in just 1.5 years there. He is a very good coach and it looks like his health has been doing well. I would not be surprised to see him get another opportunity at a bigger school in another year or he may be super satisfied where he is at and ride it out for a while.

If you’re ignoring that BYU is in the Big12, the. I respect that and will go along with your comment. Re: Sam Houston State
Seeing as Sam Houston has been one of the only games on during the week consistently I've seen a few. I am rooting for them to get that W.
They had a few when it felt like they would come close to eventually getting that dub but then would have their hearts ripped out. It felt very much what it used to feel like back when we just wanted to win a game.

Surprised no one has mentioned yet that their RB is John Gentry.

Re: Sam Houston State
They're winning games they'd lose previously but they're also playing really bad teams. They lost to 1-7 UMass by two scores at home and 2-5 Hawaii. Their wins are 8-27 combined. But again they'd be thrilled with any wins not long ago when they were begging for snack donations from their boosters.Aggie84025 wrote:Staying in conference USA coach Jerry Kill is doing an awesome job at NMSU. Sam Houston State
And yet their SOS is 132 vs 98 when counting only the record of opponents and 176 vs 75 on sagarin. Yes 43 FCS teams have played a harder schedule according to sagarin and they're closer to the easiest fcs schedule than they are to our mediocre schedule.Hoot wrote:Their wins have more wins than our wins…QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑October 19th, 2023, 11:48 amThey're winning games they'd lose previously but they're also playing really bad teams.
