Hmm. Maybe someone like Illinois? Good basketball (at times), periodically makes a little bit of noise, but mostly you wonder "why can't this large, well-funded, populous school ever put it together?"

I don’t like the Utah comparison. Before the changes to create an even bigger CFB cabal, they were world beaters for a couple of years. The US has never had a win like USA over Alabama.

I think a BSU is a better comparison. Occasional signature wins. Regularly pretty good, but can’t hang with the big boys over the long run.

We had a friendly streak of beating Netherlands and Germany and tying with Switzerland. We also have beat Italy and Spain in the last 15 years. But yes we are big underachievers

I agree with the Illinois comparison.
I also think Canada is basically Coastal Carolina.

I think Duke. Mostly dominant in basketball but football sucks.

Kentucky or UNC. There would be question that the biggest stars on campus aren’t playing “football”.
