I mean you should be able to stream from the Fox Sports website
https://www.foxsports.com/soccer/fifa-w ... core-97041

I think it gives you 45 minutes free stream, but you can login to your home service provider account to get the full stream capability.

Or you can clear your cookies at the end of the 45 minutes and it resets. Watch the USU game on Saturday this way.

I watched more soccer yesterday than I have ever in my life. I watched about 10 minutes of Qatar v. Ecuador. I even saw Ecuador score on a penalty kick. I have a somewhat vested interest in Ecuador (the country, not the soccer team), so I was interested to see them okay. I was surprised at the contingent of fans they had in attendance. To make this relatable to the original post - I won't be streaming any soccer games in Chat.

1/1 draw with Wales.
Who advances between Wales and USA will likely come down to goal differential.

Iran is going to get abused. I wouldn't be surprised with a 4 or 5 goal game from both USA and Wales.

We had a great chance to win. The team is going to regret that one. Not the refs fault but that game was very strange from an officiating stand point.

How are Bulgaria and Viktor Krum doing this year? One of the favorites?

Pretty sure Krum is retired by now. By my estimations he is like 46 years old. Hard to keep up with the 16 year olds of today's game at that age...

I heard he also had an issue when the younger generation changed the name of the sport to quadball.

My guess is whoever advances between the USA and Wales will come down to who can score the most points against Iran. Both will lose to England and beat Iran and be tied with 5 points.

Exactly. We benefit from playing Iran last.

Do we benifit from this? If England already knows they will go through, they might not play as hard against Wales :noidea:

Even though England would know they have advanced they still need to finish first in the group. They can't play for a tie and lose on a random goal, they need to play to win so they get the second place team from Group A. That could be the difference between playing the Netherlands or Ecuador in the next round, or a worse team if a surprise goes through. Also, sharing the same island there is more at stake then just the World Cup. England will NOT be playing for a tie, they will play to beat Wales by as much as they can.

I think we do. We will know how many wales puts on Iran and whatever the outcome is of our England game. I figure we'll have a pretty good idea what it will take.

Wales on the other hand can't lose by more than 2 or it just becomes difficult for them to move on. I just think England will beat them. If we assume England wins by one. We know the goal differential and what we need. Play to win by that number and we move on.

The final games of the group stage are both played at the same time to avoid having teams throw games.

If you connect to a UK based VPN server you can create an account on the BBC website and say you have a TV license, and they do nothing to verify that.

I think it benefits Wales imo. England will do what they can to ensure they get the win, but the key thing now is the tie-breaker with goal differential between us and Wales.

Look at 2014 for example. USA and Portugal tied, both beat Ghana 2-1, but when it came to the Germany game, Portugal lost 4-0 while the US lost 1-0. USA benefited by having the Germany game last by being able to see what the table and scenarios were. Germany only needed a tie to win the group, and USA just needed to not get their asses kicked. So when they were loading up the box, keeping the game in front of them, showing no signs of life on offense, they game was able to let the game die down and finish 1-0. I worry something like that could happen in the Wales - England game, especially if we were to lose by 2 goals or more on Friday.

Iran beating Wales 2-0 puts USA in a tight spot.
To advance USA can't lose by more than 2 goals to England, and then they need to beat Iran.

I think Wales winning would have put us in a tighter spot. This was the second best case scenario behind a tie.

Oh right, if we beat Iran we'd have 4 points and they'd only have 3.
Okay cool. Maths still works, phew.

Always needed to beat Iran, regardless of what happened today. The benefit now is that you don’t need to worry about what happens in the Wales - England game. Win, you’re in, anything else you’re out.

Everyone guess how many times has England beaten the US in Men’s soccer in a meaningful game (as in not a friendly)…

I try to like soccer, I really do. Every World Cup I get caught up in the build up and get excited to watch it, then I actually sit and watch a game and realize why I don’t enjoy watching soccer. Not sure how it became the most popular sport in the world.

Depends on the game. Some soccer games are boring, some exciting. Other sports can be this way too.

More than I need scoring, I need two teams that are aggressive. A 0-0 game can be exciting if the teams are aggressive. In that case the lack of scoring increases the tension.

If you don't understand soccer, I recommend watching welcome to Wrexham. It may not help you like it, but you may understand why it's a compelling thing outside the U.S.

Soccer is pretty fun to play for one.

I think for people who take it seriously they notice things that casual fans wouldn't. It's also fun to attend a game in the right league and TV can't always do it justice. One doen't have to know a lot about basketball to enjoy what goes on in the Spectrum (or use to) because it's just a lot of fun. That's why I like the Premier League (and Tottenham to be specific)... The crowd chants, the crap talking all largely pushed into the London area... There is no pro league in the US like it.

More goals or violence may make for better TV but in-person in the right league or even watching at the right bar/pub- soccer is hard to beat.

England has never beaten us in a meaningful game. I think we've drawn with them twice, and beaten them twice.

Still one of the greatest commercials created for a specific sporting event.
